Fate's Edge by Ilona Andrews. I wasn't sure about her Edge series at first, but when I heard that a certain Arbitrator from the Innkeeper series was a main character I had to dive in. I am so very glad I did. :D :D :D :D :D

Sadly Empress of Forever didn’t go very well for me.
Think I got through 5 chapters before giving it up, I can’t quite put my finger on why I didn’t like it, it just came across as pretty childish.
A shame as I was waiting some time for its release.
