I was just browsing, looking for missing books of some of my favourite authors and found this thread, and I have to say 'I AGREE!'

I love Ringo's stuff and that b&$@#%d has left me hanging for literally YEARS. Enough already!

Will Bill Weaver EVER get to be captain of the Vorpal Blade? Who does Mike Jenkins get to kill next? Or shag? (IDEA: series cross-over with his Black Tide Rising stories - The Kildar vs. zombies. Yes!) How does super-duper Christian Barbara deal with her cheating gay husband? And don't even get me started with the Troy Rising series. (C'mon, John. Enquiring minds want to know!)

I actually thought he HAD finished the Empire of Man stories but apparently not - Lord know why...

Whoa! I was reading back over this and just have to say 'wow'. Once you start ranting it's hard to stop.

Anyway, thanks for listening.

If you want to know more about the aftermath of Troy Rising, the series is the prequel to Schlock Mercenary.

Try waiting on Judith and Garfield Reeves-Steven's Galen Sword books...

Supposed to be twelve of them... They wrote two. Took TWELVE years off to write a third. And, no fourth as yet, 12 MORE years later.

They've written Star Trek books. Other books. T.V. shows, but no love for this. :(

Almost worse than C.J. Cherryh for the sequel to Luck of Brin's Five.

GRMM is a piker compared to these. :P

@phr3dtwl --
* Bad news: CJ Cherryh will NEVER write a sequel to Brin's Five. The book is by Cherry Wilder.
* Worse news: Cherry Wilder died in 2002.
* Better news: Wilder DID write two more books in the series. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherry_Wilder

Just checked the Baen website, looks like Mr. Ringo has a couple of new books coming out this year. The first is a collection of stories based on his Dark Tide series, and the other is a collaboration with Larry Correia in a new Monster Hunters International book.

The arc of the Monster Hunters Book is out today, not such a bad Monday after all.

Well, aparently the main reason he hasn't finished Empire of man (or at least got a new book) is because the series is complex and he needs to write it with David Weber, but good news after writing 2 or 3 books on the monster hunter trilogy the next is Empire of Man and Paladin of shadows (at least he said in facebook that that is the plan), he also needed to give Weber time to finish some books (cough*Honorverse*cough) but we may see a continuation from of those series at least next year.

Yeah, I'm concerned - especially because I only like his Paladin of Shadows series :D He needs to stop working on the other ones! :) :)

As far as I recall the Black Tide Rising series did end with the VEEP taking over and pronouncing that America would rise again. (short stories are just that) Can't find the link and my googlefu seems to be weak right now.

I heard there was a short story on the reason why Diego "Vel" Velasquez sabotaged the plates during The Hot Gate: Troy Rising, but I can't find it.

Ringo was on one of his binge-writing drives during May/June, but came out of it in early July for LibertyCon. He announced that he and RMB Productions have come to an agreement on licensing and are crowd-sourcing funds for a pitch short to shop Black Tide Rising for episodic TV. Campaign is on Indiegogo.

He's is back in writing mode, though, asked for redshirt names just a few days ago.

Oh yes, I hate when authors do this. Ever read David Gerrold "war against chtorr"?
