Here's the link.

I'm very, very curious.
Are *all* the books truly available anytime, everytime (even the bestsellers, the newest titles, the books in other languages, etc)? Is this truly without limits?
10$/month is not so much, and this could be worthwhile.

Unfortunately, I'm not living in the US and therefore I am (as always) out of the cool-kids-club :P

I’m sorry but I can’t keep up here, feel free to take over my releases.

aw, I read that Kindle Unlimited will offer access to new titles ~ but not the new titles from big publishes like Penguin, S&S, and Hachette. so boooo. however, if you like indie books, KU is an all-you-can-get-eat-buffet.

I also want to know if anyone has tried it.

No longer able to maintain links, sorry.

I saw the service go up and I was like, "Isn't this what my library does for free?"

Also - out of genuine curiosity - why would anyone who frequents this site's ebook section even need Kindle Unlimited?

like Carcosa mentioned on the other related-thread, maybe more requests get fulfilled. :)
another thingy ~ I share some books I buy ~ so $10 a month seems like a deal compared to $50

Unfortunately, the requests section and the releases on here can't conjure up every book, whereas these services do have a lot of books I've been unsuccessfully chasing on here and elsewhere. Using the "Netflix for Books"-type sites means I can access a lot of them for less than it'd cost to buy them.

Yes, you could use it as a way to throw some cash to authors if you tried their book on here first.

KU looks pretty good. They have a lot of books that I would like to read that I haven't been able to find in any site ( like this one). They don't have books by the big publishing houses like Random, Simon & .., etc though. You don't need a kindle to read the books either which is great. I will sign up but I might get me a kindle paperwhite first. Don't like reading in iPad and I have a Sony reader right now.

At first I signed up just for the free trial just to get the audible credits. As it stands now as l dig through there offerings with my girlfriend there are a lot of books that we are interested in that have the narration included. We travel a lot and love
having books to listen to.If we find enough books and audio we may stick with the service.

I had the thirty day free trial and just paid the ~$10 to keep it. I think it is definitely worth it, especially if you are a fan of audiobooks (I'm not).

I've been able to fill several requests here and on other sites using it. I have also been able to replace a lot of the lower quality books in my collection with retail copies.

do the books get sent to you in the same way as if you bought it? easy to import to calibre ?_?
I tried Kindle Prime before, and it had restrictions. hoping it is different with Kindle Unlimited.

Just install Alf's DRM (Google This) removing plug ins into Calibre, download the books through Kindle for PC and import the books into Calibre and you are done. This also works for library books from both Kindle and Adobe.

Just in case anyone still wants to know. I had it and wasn't impressed. You are only allowed 10 books at a time, the selection isn't that great, and any of the descent books (in the genres I like) I had already purchased previously (if I hadn't it would have been worth it for me).

I did still give it a go and grabbed a couple books that I wouldn't have paid for but are about topics I find interesting. On looking at the first, there was a note from the author stating that if this book had been purchased from the publisher and you could send them a receipt and they would refund via paypal!

I got rid of KU after a couple of months. The selection of books was not the best. At least, not what I was looking for.
