NewsBreak

I looked at a few RSS readers and this was the most appealing to me, that's it. I haven't tried A6 Times yet tho, that looks nice too.

I used Egress till now, was the most usable out of those i tried when seeking for a good one. I have just installed NewsBreak today, i think i'll use this from now, until i want to start listening podcasts (i'll have to go back to Egress for that, seems NewsBreak has no podcast support... maybe i'll find another podcast soft by that time...)

I always used Newsbreak, untill I won a copy of Egress on a contest.
Used that for a while, and I got the feeling there were more things to customize and more settings to tweak with.
However, that came with a price: my PPC occasionaly froze. I don't like that
.
So back to Newsbreak now, it looks better too.
The menu in the bottom is usable with the WM5 softkeys, and D-pad only navigation is implemented very well.

Not much. And with the new update (also posted on this site, v3.10 I believe) it hardly ever happens. And the bottom bar is now updated to work with WM5 devices (soft keys). So it's back to Egress for me.
Edit: the one ore two 'freezes' I had with the new update weren't actually freezes. It just hang a while after pressing the 'X' button. Not 'long' as in 2 minutes, but longer than 5 seconds and it shouldn't be that way.

Have you tried compressing it with the upx compressor? the reason i say this is bc it might help considering i know this is a program that would be best put on the main memory i am guessing. I need to get my computer to actually activesync so i can download this onto my phone and try it, activesync gets stuck on looking for changes.

I've switched to pRSSReader - which actually can cache complete feeds - including all images. Maybe I should release it for some bucks. <_<

Well, pRSSReader DOES handle and cache Podcasts - but it stores them in separate directories from the feed one. May give headaches when trying to clear the cache. Otherwise - it handles everything better than the A6 I was last using.
Edit: Warning, tho - caching podcasts is likely to take up a lot of your final frontier (space). >_>

I've used a bunch of RSS feeders on my PPCs but I've stuck with NewBreak because it's easy to navigate, not junky, simple and attractive interface, veisual and sound alerts when new items arrive, the ability to filter alerts and itmes based on keywords, suject, etc. Highly customizable. The ONLY coveat is that it doesn't handle podcasts well. You have to manually download them yourself, which can be annoying. It also doesn't cache images when it downloads the feed. When you open the specific item it then tries to download any associated images. If you're not currently connected to the internet you won't get to see the image(s).
Other than that it's excellent.
