Hi,
I've downloaded TomTom Western and Central Europe map, and after extraction it showed me a couple of files, one of them an exe file.
Double clicked it and it gave me a DOS windows which asked for a Device ID. Strangely, I tried to search google on how to find my Device ID and search the forums and couldn't come up with nothing.
I could use some help.

Thanks!

welcome to ppcwarez, ohecht! and please add your device information to the profile settings (see my sig.)

start TT6 and select the map you have just copied. the map will give you the device ID and will ask you to enter the map's registration code.

Having another question.
After installing TomTom I can't get it to be on the start menu.
I copied the files to my PPC in the Program Files folder and just want to create a shortcut to be easily accessed (instead of opening the file manager each time I want to use it).
Thanks.

i presume you're using the default file explorer, so navigate to the folder where the program is installed and find the appropriate executable file. Tap'n'hold on the file and choose Copy from the popup menu. now go to Windows\Start Menu and Tap'n'hold on an empty area to pop the menu up and then select Paste Shortcut.

in other third-party file explorers, you have to follow the same routine but there may be slight differences in the menu items.
