Hello,
I get this message when I try to open the apps I installed (started happening yesterday, I bought the device last week - Asus A696):
"The file "app_name" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."
It happens with all of them :? The ones that came with the PDA work fine. What can I do to fix this and what should I do to avoid this in the futures?
Thanks

EDIT: It happened after I installed iGO My way 2006 Plus from this link http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic.php?t=19745&start=0 ... the one in update3. At least it's the last app I was able to run. It was zoomed, like the resolution was bigger. I closed it, uninstalled it but the shortcuts were still there. I manage to delete them too but since then I have the problem described above. Thanks for reading :)

Not sure about this. I looked for a list of viruses and didn't found much. Not all the exe files are corrupt... just the ones that I have installed. Windows Media Player, Excel and all those other apps that came with the PDA work just fine, why would a virus chose not to attack those? I guess I'll do a hard reset and start over...
The first app that I will install will be something to make backups... and then an antivirus ;)

I couldn't find a solution. I did a clean reset and reinstalled just a few programs that I considered necessary and it works just find now. I plan not to mess around with so many apps in the future and do regular backups, as well as having some CAB files on the card in case I need to do a clean reset again and I don't have a computer around. I guess this is the best way to learn this stuff... by messing up everything and starting over :D

Damn... it happened again. I found a better way to deal with it though :) A shut down fixes it. I also noticed that if this happens and I install a new program that dialog asking me if I'm sure I want to install because it's not signed with a trusted certificate.. bla bla... After I do that everything works again. I'm pretty sure that it's a problem with WM6, something happens and it blocks all the applications that I installed. This is also the reason that the ones that came with the package work, because those are trusted. Is there any way of removing that check? Making Windows run any program I click on? I'm sure it's safer this way but I always click yes :) so it would be the same thing.

ahhhh, I think you found the bug.
But, please update your profile andppc to include your ppc and OS, this will greatly help us help you!! Thank you!
I know that some cooked rooms for wm6 have some bugs in them wich make them not compatible with some appz. That could be one of your problems.
Have you considered going back to the more stable, guaranteed to work wm5? If you cant live without wm6, then try flashing to another rom.

btw, just about every app will give you that "not trusted" warning, regardless of what rom you're using.
:)

Thanks for the tip. Profile updated.
It keeps happening. If I leave it opened long enough but with the screen off it will start doing this. I don't mind the shutdown that much... but it would be nice if I didn't have to do that.
It doesn't happen with some apps, it happens with all apps so I don't think it's incompatibility... but I'm pretty sure it's a WM6 bug.. I don't really have a reason to use WM6... the device just came with it... but isn't this one better then WM5? What stupid company would make a bad new version for a software that works just fine? Oh... wait... it's Microsoft :P
