i know it sounds pretty stupid but wouldn't it be cool if you had portable apps on your sd or cf card? you could just plug your card into any ppc and view programs, documents, and other stuff. all you need is some apps that do not write to the registry and an app like pstart http://www.pegtop.de/start/

please give me feedback :)

sorry it does sound kind of stupid because pocket pcs are portable themselves ;)
but what if you had many pocket pcs (like me) and needed to have the same programs and documents for each of the pocket pcs. one could just plug in the sd/cf/micro sd/mini sd card into either pocket pcs and be able to run whatever is needed.

That is the whole point of portable apps :)

There are already portable apps. Not all apps need the registry files to run and only a few install needed files to the device if you choose to install to storage card. Just try your apps to see which work and which won't. Registry keys usually only contain settings and most apps will create them automatically once you open the program. Of course, if you want a shortcut in the Start menu you'll have to create it yourself.
