Lo,
Is there any software available that enables the phone as a USB HOST,
Basically software that, If you plug a USB memory stick into the mini USB port,
allows you to browse the filesystem on the USB Memory stick.

This would be great to get around the 4GB limitation on the HTC DIAMOND,
and possibly usefull for having extra storage for movies and games even on phone with a memory card slot.

I have been looking, but cant seem to find anything of the sort.

nope, you need a device with usb host. it is a hardware limitation. there is a pic of diamond (or maybe touch pro) with a usb plugged into it, but im beginning to think its fake

Risux, thanks but, its not what I am after.

See the diamond doesn't have a memory card slot, only the 4GB memory.
I'm looking for a way to plug a USB memory stick into the phone for additional storage.

It does appear that the hardware might support USB host in bootrom mode, as you can upgrade the ROM from a USB key as per the service manual.
This is called USB trigger mode. So it is not a hardware limitation on the HTC Diamond, the problem comes in that you need the necessary drivers in WM6.1.
I gathered this much from the propeller heads over at XDA> wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=USB_Trigger_Mode
