Hi all,

Last weeks I've been playing around with Spb Weather, Traveler and Mobile Shell, all latest versions. I'm using an SE Xperia X1i with a 16GB MicroSD and running WM 6.1: CE OS 5.2.19608 (Build 19608.1.2.60).

What struck me was that after installation of these programs on my phone one by one, my battery would run down in a matter of a few hours, without doing anything with the phone at all!

With Powerguard (http://www.vandenmuyzenberg.nl/PowerGuard/) installed I could see the discharge current of the battery went up from ~80 mA to ~250 mA after installing the Spb programs, which for a 1500 mAH battery is rather much.

After uninstalling/disabling them in the Today screen things went back to normal again.

I'd like to suggest to keep a list of experiences people have with various programs which are power hogs, as a warning for others.

Any ideas/comments anyone?

Best regards,
jsvv.

I think Mobile Shell will be the culprit. Uninstall it and verify the power drain again.

Programs like Mobile Shell and Wisbar Desktop can drain your battery. But my phone lasts for a day with Wisbar Desktop and Wisbar Advanced.

Hi there.
Just played around with Powerguard and several settings on my HTC Touch HD.

When charging:
- no apps running: 196 mA
- MobileShell: 210 mA
- MobileShell, Screenwriter, Ilock2, AEBPlus, Resco Keyboard, LogPhoneService, ReReMind, Shozu: 220-250 mA

when on battery with all abough apps:
- with backlight: 116 mA
- without backlight: 71 mA

So it is clearly not MobileShell that causes drain.
But sometimes something seems to go wrong. Normally after 8 hours of standby in the morning my phone has 97% battery power left . This morning it only had 25% left.
This happened 3 times over the last months. I guess it helps to restart the phone before going to bed. :-)
