Overview: Freedom of speech is a part of the American fabric; however, we know all too well that with such liberties backlashes are always possible.
St. Lewis is a reporter for the I85 News during the day, and MC by night performing in some of Atlanta’s hottest nightclubs aside DZ, (pronounced disease), who together make up the hip hop duo ‘Black Tree’.
After assigned to cover a controversial story for I85 News which causes a disturbance among African – American women in metro-Atlanta, one person of interest comes to mind. That person, Jeff Kilpatrick. However; because of whom his family is and who they are in the world of law and order, Jeff is crowned with immunity. But a smoking gun compels St. Lewis to dig deeper into Jeff’s full identify in spite Editor-in-chief Thomas insisting that he stand down. Known for controversy, St. Lewis rebels and is later terminated. Nevertheless, courageous and armed with the First Amendment right to freedom of speech St. Lewis unapologetically uses his journalistic skills and hip hop influence to rally the people and unravels the truth behind a genocidal plot meant to afflict African – Americans in metro-Atlanta. No one ever thought that this movement would rekindle the fire that sparked the first Freedom Rides of the Sixties and spread nationwide.
