Overview: Hi! Thanks for coming, pull up a chair.
I'm a British marketing consultant-turned-romcom novelist - Two Metres From You is my debut novel, and my second, Never Gonna Happen, is out in all formats in May 2022 and available to pre-order now.
Since 2008 I’ve also written lots of of liveblogs for The Guardian, about everything from The Apprentice to Big Brother. Now I focus on two of my favourite things - the Eurovision Song Contest and Strictly Come Dancing.
I live in the lovely market town of Chippenham in Wiltshire with my boyfriend Pip and my dog Mabel. I have two grown-up children and can bake a very decent Victoria sponge.

Two Metres From You (2021)
Love might be closer than you think . . .

Gemma isn't sure what upsets her more. The fact she just caught her boyfriend cheating, or that he did it on her brand-new Heal's cushions.

All she knows is she needs to put as many miles between her and Fraser as humanly possible. So, when her best friend suggests a restorative few days in the West Country, it seems like the perfect solution.

That is, until the country enters a national lockdown that leaves her stranded. All she has for company is her dog, Mabel. And the mysterious (and handsome!) stranger living at the bottom of her garden . . .

Packed full of laugh-out-loud moments, this hugely uplifting, feel-good and sparkling romantic comedy is simply unputdownable. Perfect for fans of Mhairi McFarlane, Sophie Kinsella, Beth O'Leary and Laura Jane Williams.

Never Gonna Happen (2022)
EMILY HAS SWORN OFF LOVE.
BUT MAYBE IT'S TIME TO GET BACK IN THE SADDLE . . . ?

Emily Wilkinson has lost everything. Literally. In a hair straightener fire, which has sent her entire flat up in flames. Oh, and her boyfriend (and, incidentally, boss) has just announced he's going back to his wife. So, she needs a new job, a new wardrobe and somewhere to live that isn't her former childhood bedroom, which is experiencing a hostile takeover by the entire contents of Hobbycraft.

Early dotcom millionaire Charles Hunter is looking for a live-in PA to help run Bowford Manor and it seems Emily may be the perfect fit. Well, she's spent ten years propping up demanding men, so it's not like she's not qualified. And, most importantly, it's tucked away in the Norfolk countryside, so there's little to no chance of a blossoming romance . . .

She is quickly sucked into the whirlwind of the Hunter family and finds herself fending off a difficult housekeeper and Leon, Mr Hunter's driver, who has a crush on her the size of East Anglia. Not to mention Charles's eldest son, Adam, who seems set on turning the estate into a theme park the second his father pops his clogs.

But no one mentioned the dashing stable hand, Jamie, who just so happens to be the youngest Hunter. But she's not about to make that mistake again. Definitely not. No, really.

A hugely uplifting and totally irresistible romantic comedy that will make you snort with laughter. If you love Sophie Kinsella, Mhairi McFarlane and Sophie Ranald, you don't want to miss this unforgettable page-turner.

The Only Way Is Up (2022)
WHEN LIFE HAS YOU DOWN ON LOVE, SURELY THE ONLY WAY IS UP . . . ?
____________________________

Twenty-five years in showbiz is a good run, right? Because after tonight, when her small (read: huge) wardrobe malfunction was broadcast to the nation's living rooms, Daisy's time in the spotlight might be over.

It's all about damage control now, and Daisy needs an escape route. Fast. Especially when her sporting hero boyfriend publicly announces their engagement - the one she hasn't actually agreed to tell the world about.

All she needs is space from prying eyes and time for the press to get bored and move on. But the only place she can run to at such short notice is the Cotswolds cottage she used to own with her ex-husband. Not ideal, but at least it's in the middle of nowhere and close to her teenage daughter.

Seems like a perfect plan, apart from the person selling stories to the tabloids about her and Tom, the local headmaster.

But that's just a rumour, right?

The perfect uplifting and feel-good romantic comedy that will have you snorting with laughter. If you love Sophie Ranald, Catherine Walsh, and Mhairi Macfarlane, you won't want to miss this!

Game, Set, Match (2023)
LOVE DOESN'T ALWAYS PLAY BY THE RULES . . .

Hannah has been married to Graham since they were eighteen - a union of desperation to escape their strict families. He's the only man she's ever kissed and honestly, she's not sure he's any good at it. But fourteen years of washing his underwear is more than enough to kill the romance.

Well, that and the fact that he's got a work colleague pregnant.

Hannah's new-found freedom is an opportunity to finally put herself first, and a trip to Spain sounds like the perfect start. Yes, it might be with three near strangers, but it's also a chance to play tennis every day under the Spanish sun, before heading off on a solo road trip and starting the next phase of her life.

Then Hannah meets Rob, who has kissed ALL the women and is 100% not her type. And besides, she's really not looking for love right now. But if there's one thing Hannah knows about tennis, it's that sometimes taking a risk can pay off - and when you fault on your first serve, you get a second chance.

Escape to the Spanish hills in this completely gorgeous and delicious romantic comedy that will have you snorting with laughter. If you love Catherine Walsh, Laura Jane Williams and Sophie Ranald, you won't want to miss this!
