Since the updated thread is closed I guess I'll try here. Is there a way to get this to work with Gear VR? When I choose a video from a VR category my phone wont give me any option to open with a VR app aside from Samsung VR which closes out right after mounting the phone. I have tried downloading apps that extend the options for 'open with' type things but it seems that this can only open with certain ones, none of which work with Gear VR.

Try downloading the video first maybe and then open it with your desired app. Can you link me the app you are trying to open the video with? It only selects apps with video/mp4 support

Ah. Was trying to just stream the video and not have to download. As for which players...tried VLC, MXPlayer, and prolly a few others.

Okey well actually there is a button inside all players with a arrow pointing to upper right corner. You can also select "External Player" in Settings.
