Review: Zoe, a victim of an abusive marriage, founded her secret group with the hope of helping other victims and giving them the tools to protect themselves and they aid her in escaping her husband and divorcing him. They become a vigilante biker gang defending the victims of injustice or abuse.

If not for Night Brigade, her organization dedicated to justice, Zoe may never have gained the courage to divorce Travis. His family had money and easy access to powerful attorneys. She"d feared the repercussions of initiating the end of her lengthy marriage due to their obsessively controlling and vicious nature.

When Zoe’s ex-husband kidnaps her with the aid of Booker, she’s mesmerised by him and is in for a few shocks while she waits for her new fiance Mott to rescue her.

Travis glared at her. “A man has to move on, but pride needs to be salvaged. Mott may have succeeded in taking you from me, but he"s gonna pay.” He turned back toward the window.

“I have my own vendetta with Mott.” Booker didn"t look at her, but instead tilted his chin upward to exhale a long, deep drag from his smoke.

Her fiance is not the man she thought and Booker is a vampire desperate to get even with Mott. They are instantly drawn to each other by much more than attraction maybe fate, Booker’s plans to rescue Zoe change when she decides to confront Mott and see the truth for herself they find them selves fighting their way out

Without another word, she stomped on Mott"s foot with the heel of her boot while jamming an elbow into his gut. Before he could recover, she slammed her head back against his face, then whipped around to drive her palm upward into his nose. Instantly blood began to flow. She heard a lot of scuffling, but didn"t look back to see how Booker was faring. She had confidence that he could kick ass—she"d seen that in him from the start. Travis made an attempt to stop her. She swung around to deliver a sharp kick to his groin, followed by another to his face as he bent forward. Without warning, Mott gripped her throat from behind. Zoe clutched his forearm with both hands, then used all her might to flip him to the floor. She caught a glimpse of Booker, Trey and Holt from the corner of her eye. He had the two men nearly beaten which renewed her strength. A burning desire to destroy her ex-husband and ex-fiancé consumed her. However, more urgent was the need to get out of the compound before they became vastly outnumbered. While Mott lay groaning in pain, she struck him again with a sharp kick to his ribs. He rolled over, clutching his side. Travis foolishly attacked again, but was double-teamed as Booker and Zoe each threw a hard punch—one to his face—another to his diaphragm. “Let"s go.” Booker took her hand. “We aren"t out of this yet—but we will be soon.” He gave her a wink.

When Zoe returns to the Night Brigade she’s mated to Booker, and they allow the first male into their pack. Rider, Booker’s friend and former band mate arrives to join the celebration but before the evening is over Zoe is kidnapped again and Mott’s devious plan comes to light.

Now this is a real kidnapping. Booker hadn’t bound me so severely when he had taken me. A feeling of dread deluged her.

The Night Brigade decide to join the vampires and with Rider’s helps they prepare for war. The pack is dealt another blow by further betrayal but from one of their own.

I enjoyed the book and loved the story behind how they came to become vampires, it was completely original and hilarious!

“A few years ago I was at a wild party. The house was a big old mansion-type filled with relics. One of the guys had inherited the estate from his grandfather. Rider said the place had been in his family for years and built by an uncle.” He stroked her hair with one hand while speaking. “We had all been good and wasted that night when Rider brought out an ancient bottle. He jokingly told us that if we drank the contents we"d evolve into vampires.” Booker let out a light, sardonic laugh. “We all laughed, thinking Rider had way too much smoke. But he insisted his great, great grandfather had been a vampire and that the bottle contained the old man"s blood mixed with vodka.”

I also liked that the heroine was a strong kick-as character that didn’t wait around to be rescued, and the entire pack are quite blood thirsty ready to back up their comrades without question, there is a strong sense of ‘sisterhood’ throughout the book, along with plenty ass-kicking and hot vampire loving.

“Nothing like a common bond between two pissed off women to get something started.” Booker"s wry comment made them grin.

‘I disliked that Zoe appeared to be a bad judge of character and too trusting despite her previous experience, and who was cleaning up all the dead bodies?

I gave Vampire Vengeance three stars and will definitely read the rest of the series.

Sounds like a book I might like. I'll put it on my list. I really appreciate this reviewer page on Mobilism. I've found books I didn't think I would like but gave them a chance after reading the reviews and have been surprised at some of them. Keep up the good work.
