DONOVAN (#1): Kate: He killed my brother. He didn’t wield the rock that destroyed a promising life, the life of a future doctor, but he killed him just the same. He should have been there that night, should have protected Joshua from the wrath of bullies that he’d pulled down on us all. But he wasn’t. And Joshua died. Now my dad expects me to sit back and let this man protect me? Was he insane? I don’t care how wonderful Gray Wolf Security is. I wasn’t about to give up my freedom, my privacy, and allow Donovan Pritchard to follow me around for the unforeseeable future. I don’t care how determined the criminal who is after me is. I can’t even remember what happened the night Joe died. Besides, I’d rather take my chances than spend even a minute with Donovan. Donovan: When I was assigned to protect a new client, I never imagined I’d be protecting the one person who told me to get out of her life and stay out…Kate Thompson. Seeing her took my breath away. She was even more beautiful than I remembered. Unfortunately, she was less than thrilled to learn that I’d be the one protecting her and that we’d be together twenty-four seven. I’ve worked hard to move beyond the past…but sometimes the past catches up with you.

DAVID (#2): David: My life ended the night my father won a place in the US Congress. Not because he won the election, but because he died when I lost control of the car he, my mother, and I were riding in. My parents both died and I was left paralyzed from the upper thighs down. There’s an operation that could fix my legs, but maybe I don’t deserve a second chance. After all, my parents didn’t get one. But then a woman walks into my life…it’s always a woman, right? She was once a notorious hacker, now a ruthless CEO of one of the hottest social media corporations in the world. We’re both broken, but maybe together we can find a way to fix what no longer works. Ricki: David is everything I’ve always wanted in a man—smart, affectionate, gorgeous… I want to trust him with my deepest, darkest secrets, but I’m not sure than I can. After all, our paths have crossed before…years ago. He just doesn't know it yet. And it was that intersection of his world and mine that started the downward spiral of the person who meant the most to me...

JOSS (#3): Carrington: She doesn’t talk. How the hell am I supposed to trust the life of my child to a woman who won’t talk? I’m paying thousands of dollars to Gray Wolf Security to protect my child from potential kidnappers, and they give me this emotionally broken woman who won’t speak. Not only that, but she’s so tiny she couldn’t hurt a fly. Well, okay, so she knocked me to the ground. But I’m not a drug lord with a loaded pistol pointed at an innocent child. Just because she’s beautiful and she has these curves that I can’t seem to get out of my mind doesn’t mean that I’m okay with this situation. Joss: I haven’t spoken in almost four years. Not since my husband and eighteen-month old baby were killed in a tragic car accident. Because of this, I have only one rule about the cases that I’m assigned at Gray Wolf Security…no cases involving children. Yet, when Ash asked me to protect an eight-year old girl—and by default her father—I can’t tell him no.

ASHFORD (#5): Ash: It’d been more than three years since I last disrobed a woman, and she definitely wasn’t screaming like this woman…whom I just met and who was in labor in the back of my SUV. Little did I know that this chance encounter was about to change my life in ways I could never imagine. I’d spent the last three years searching for my fiancée, unsuccessfully. I never thought I’d love again. And then I met Mina. From the moment I met her, I didn’t want to let her out of my sight. I never expected how much I’d enjoy having her and her newborn son, Ford, living with me at the compound, and I dreaded the day when they would pack their things and leave. My draw to Mina is undeniable. She’s gorgeous and caring and selfless, but can I move beyond my past and see a future with her? Mina: Ash shouldn’t act like a complete stranger…after all he delivered my son. But even when I do a simple act like hug him as a sign of gratitude for the kindness he’s shown my son and I, he steps away…although he does seem to be lingering a bit longer with each forced embrace. Maybe one day? I couldn’t have stumbled upon a better man to help me in my predicament. Ash is beyond handsome and gives me a sense of safety that I’ve never felt before. Not only has he put a roof over my head, but he’s even helping me soothe my newborn son in the middle of the night…although I don’t think he wants his friends to know that quite yet. Ford deserves someone better than his biological father. He needs a man like Ash, a man who can protect him and teach him how to protect himself. He needs a good, generous man as a father, someone who will love him unconditionally. He needs Ash. I need Ash. I’m just afraid that the secrets and lies I’m carrying with me will be the things that make a life with Ash impossible. Will the truth set me free, or bury me forever?
