2. #COCKY - A long weekend getaway with my Cocker Spaniel, Cocky, should be simple, right?
Call me gullible. Call me naive, call me whatever you want, but I'm not jaded, and I'm not cocky.
My cocker spaniel, however? Yep, he got that name because that's exactly what he is. A cocky SOB. He doesn't like anyone, including me.
It's been two years since I've had a vacation, and no, I'm not a workaholic, I'm just a hardworking IP attorney, trying to work my way up through the male-dominated ranks of partner at one of the top firms in Sacramento.
I have one long weekend to myself and my best friend Luna (make that ex-best friend now) tells me that I should go to Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe. I can drive there, it's beautiful, it will make me feel like I'm in paradise, blah, blah, blah.
