Needle Point (Book #1): Cameron McGill's journalist sister, Carrie, has been found dead in an Amsterdam canal with needle marks all down her arm. No matter how she tries, Cameron can't believe that Carrie would ever take drugs—even though the Dutch police are adamant that she did.
When they close the case for good, Cameron is compelled to go to Amsterdam and find out exactly what happened to her sister. Once there, she finds that everyone seems to be warning her off. She encounters a hostile squat, evasive drug agencies, a German woman who seems hell-bent on getting her into bed and an attractive policewoman who she finds hard to resist.
But as her investigation gathers pace, she finds it difficult to know who she can trust and she soon realises that her own life is in imminent danger too, and that she could also die in the same gruesome way as her sister.
Breaking Point (Book #2): It's not the best of days for Cameron McGill. Home early from Amsterdam, after a major row with her girlfriend Hellen, she stumbles across a knife attack on the fog-bound Humber Bridge.
The victim, Magda Swinson, is critically wounded and Cameron, much to her dismay, is held by the police for questioning. Desperate to clear her name, and fulfil a promise that she made to the victim, she starts to investigate and runs into hostile animal rights militants, violent thugs, a mysterious woman called Beano, the alluring Angel, who won't leave her alone... and the hostile chief executive of an animal research establishment.
As the days pass she gets drawn into an ever-more sticky web of danger and intrigue, that ultimately - and dramatically - puts her own life on the line as well.
Dead Reckoning (Book #3): Private Investigator Cameron McGill, never keen on domestic jobs, is following a cheating husband for a client, passed on to her by her friend Beano. But it turns out that the man, Charles Wilson, is a cross-dresser, rather than an adulterer.
When the case appears to be solved, she relaxes and takes time out, chatting to an attractive half-Chinese woman, Lin Lee, in a Manchester gay bar. But as soon as her back is turned, Wilson is run down by a mystery 4x4 in the backstreet outside and she finds him dead and bleeding in the road. Cameron soon faces a hostile interview with the police and discovers that Beano has been arrested a few days previously and is awaiting trial for attempted murder.
Cameron, against her better judgement, is soon being drawn inexorably into two separate investigations, each of which begins to expose the dark, criminal underbelly of the city. Two investigations. Either one of which could spell sudden death - both for her, and for her new friend Lin Lee.
