Overview: Hudson had no idea Laurel was going to come into his life so suddenly. He had been shut off for so long, and that is the way he wanted to keep it. This was when the roller coaster ride began.
Straight out of High School, he joined the military and didn’t come back the same man. He was no longer the upbeat, outgoing man everyone used to know. Now, he was brooding and uptight. He liked to keep his emotions in check. Well, until Laurel came along, that is.
The problem was Laurel was not someone who cared about what others think. Most of all, she does not apologize for something she does not think was wrong. She was outgoing, quirky, and spoke her mind 100% of the time.
Sometimes this gets on people’s nerves, but it did not bother her at all. The next day, she interviewed for Hudson’s assistant position and knew she was not going to get it because of the prior events but talked him into giving her the day to prove herself best for the job.
About four hours in, Hudson berated her in front of the entire office. Luckily, his mom Lorelai walked in and had not been happy with how he was treating his employees or women. She pulls Laurel into the breakroom to discuss something important including giving her some backstory on Hudson. Lorelai was happy to see Hudson showing any emotion because, for the last two years, no one had been able to get anything out of him.
They both came up with a plan for Laurel to keep her job as his assistant and to try to get him to lose his marbles. The only problem was can she do it without getting too close to Hudson?
