1. The Seraph's Fate - Cast out of paradise for manipulating the human heart, Sylas Diya—the Seraph of love and desire would seek his expiation among those he influenced to his will. Given no other choice, he would do that which was forbidden to earn his rightful place back into the bosom of the Rule of Three—through human desire.
That was until he saw her—Anaya Myers. A lonely loveless college student who sought no companionship from any man who’d beckon. Sylas saw in her the ultimate challenge. He would influence her, manipulate her, and use her for his own ends. He would cast aside his own heart to free hers. Success meant rejoining the Rule of Three in his eyes. But the passion he’d developed for her may prove to be his own undoing.
The rules were not set, and his reality was not what it seemed. He would choose to walk this path, nonetheless—for her sake and his own.
2. Descension - With his kiss, she was born anew. That forbidden touch would send him into another reality. Darkness consumed.
Torment had filled her heart the moment he left. Without word or solace, the Seraph was gone from her, leaving in its place a void of emptiness. The whisper of what she thought was reality became blurred, and in the depths of her heart, she was no longer certain if the Seraph was even real. He became a dream—a ghost.
Moving on with her life was a challenge Anaya was willing to accept. That was, until the day, a voice called to her in that same sweet allure as Sylas Diya once had. For five years he stayed away to spare her his fate. But he could no longer endure the pain of living without her. Together, they would descend into another world to evade the Vampyre and the Human to pursue a forbidden passion.
Time was fading and in each other’s arms was all they had left.
3. Desires Freed - We crossed through worlds. We defied the Rule of Three. And with this connection, our desires would be freed. With this connection—the story of the Seraph would be revealed.
With the power taken from the Lord of Chaos, Sylas and Anaya entered the realm of Aseraphelic, the Seraph's homeworld, to escape those who would see them torn apart. The past, present, and foretold future of the Seraph would be laid bare to Anaya. She would soon know the truth of the lover she put all her trust in as well as the fate of her world and why she played a central part in its destiny. Anaya was a descendant of a Chosen—a secret, not even the Seraph could confess to her.
The Vampyre and the Human lay wait at the gates of Aseraphelic to convince the Seraph to let her go and rejoin the Rule of Three. He knew, as did his companions, that the love they shared could throw the Rule of Three’s universal cluster off its equilibrium. The choice was his to make—give up Anaya and be pardoned for his sins, or love her eternally and let the fate of universes hang in the balance.
4. Blood’s Passion - I was told from a young age that our conquest would help to serve the Crimson Asa Court and farther expand our empire to heights of perfection. The birth of the Vampyre was what set our path for dominance in motion. Lust was awe. Passion and hunger were quintessential.
Those were the rules I lived by since winning the Royal Challenge and becoming Athanasia of Vampyraya, heir to the throne. All worlds would kneel before the supremacy of the Vampyre, and I alone would stand atop—or so I thought. Shade—that was the only name he went by. The moment I laid eyes on him, my whole world fell apart. I now had to struggle with my inner demons as the blood's passion rushed my veins whenever he was near.
I had a choice; close myself off and focus on glory in battle—or choose him as my mate and wallow in the decadence of political puppetry. I told myself that love was an illusion, and those who succumbed to it would pay the price. Nevertheless, that price would soon be paid by me—in glory . . . or blood.
5. Renascor - Deception, manipulation, and countermoves—that was the way of the Crimson Asa Court. I knew that now. Nothing I learned at the Red Sun Academy would have prepared me for this. With the Empress at my back, the Duke of Sandiel plotting a coup, and my lover staring at a death sentence, I didn’t know how I was going to manifest an outcome that would work in my favor.
The only way out was to create deceptions of my own. Against the orders of my uncle—Emperor Magnus Sawnyo, I would ignite the flame that would lead to the downfall of the alien planet Gala and avenge my father once and for all. By my hand, our empire would have conquered its greatest enemy.
All the same, this destiny was not meant to be the finality of my plight. It was there in the far reaches of space that I saw the gods. The Seraph touched the bosom of my cold heart and said I was to be reborn into something beyond my known reality. Was my destiny to die in battle—to rule over the empire with Shade by my side—or become something greater? The Seraph said; the Rule of Three awaits. And soon, my path would intersect with his.
6. Raison D'être - A century had passed. The warning of the Seraph was all too real—my universe would end. With the gifts bestowed upon me by the gods, I would do all within my power to stop that from happening. Choices had to be made. Billions of lives were at stake.
What was I to do? Take my place by the Seraph and help in the creation of worlds—or fight to save my own? I knew this much; the Vampyre would live on with or without the might of the empire. I was all my people had left. Yet, the question remained . . . would I be their savior or their demise?
My raison d'être—my reason for being, rested within the confines of the Rule of Three. The path of my destiny was to be revealed. All rested on my shoulders. Ultimately, I would be the beginning or the end of my people. The final test of me awaited.
