But, a few years later, there is something that shadows their felicity: the lack of an heir, Darcy's child that Elizabeth so desperately wants.
More trouble and challenges arise for our dear couple, as ghosts of the past return. Lydia Wickham makes an unexpected appearance at Pemberley, promising to shatter Elizabeth's world once again and, as the time for the first Pemberley ball approaches, Lady Catherine puts additional pressure on Elizabeth and Darcy's marriage.
Can one be truly happy after finding ‘The One’? What happens if some wishes remain unfulfilled? Can marriage really be only bliss?
A Pair of Sparkling Eyes
A spirited ten-year-old Elizabeth Bennet travels to Derbyshire with her uncle Thomas Gardiner and his new wife Madeline to visit Madeline’s relatives in Lambton.
Influenced by their circumstances, Mrs Gardiner gives a helping hand to a dear aunt — a talented local seamstress — to finish work on several gowns for Lady Anne Darcy, the ailing mistress of Pemberley. Elizabeth accompanies the women to Pemberley, and thus she becomes acquainted with young, shy, sweet Georgiana Darcy, whom she one day saves from a perilous situation.
Charmed by the fearless, lively child with sparkling eyes, Lady Anne Darcy rewards Elizabeth with her gratitude, her affection, and a beautiful necklace — a family heirloom. During her brief stay at Pemberley, Elizabeth fails to be introduced to the young heir, Fitzwilliam Darcy, as he is away from home. She meets instead Mr Darcy’s godson, George Wickham, a wicked child, whose true character is revealed even at such a young age.
Ten years later, the Bennet family of Longbourn receive the news that Netherfield Park has been let at last. A single gentleman in possession of a good fortune is expected to move there, bringing with him an entertaining party of people, including his good friend Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy, the master of Pemberley.
‘Darcy’ and ‘Pemberley’ are names that revive tender memories in Elizabeth Bennet’s heart, although she has heard little about them since she was a child. Mr Darcy, however — proud, arrogant, and disdainful — makes an unpleasant entrance into the society of Meryton, leaving Elizabeth little evidence to associate him with Lady Anne’s and Georgiana’s fond recollections of the young boy.
Will Elizabeth’s opinion change when she comes to know him better or will the situation between them will get irremediably worse?
