1. Made for the Mafia Boss - Matteo: I don’t have time for this. My men caught a spy down by the old abandoned shipyard and now I have to deal with him or else risk losing this alliance. Turns out the spy isn’t a man. It’s a woman. A lovely woman who says she was taking photos for her bookstagram account. Whatever that is. I can hardly take in her words, because her eyes are piercing my chest, right where my heart would be if I had one. They are crystal blue, almost transparent in this lighting. I can see fear in her clear blue irises, but also a quiet determination. This isn’t the first time she’s been threatened. I can’t let her go. I have to protect this angel.
Darlene: I was just taking pictures! I swear, I didn’t know anyone else even knew about the creepy abandoned shipyard. The thugs who kidnapped me, however, don’t let me defend myself before putting a bag over my head and shoving me in a car. The worst part is, they threw my books away in the dumpster. That’s just rude and unnecessarily cruel. Before I know what’s happening, I’m dragged into a room that smells like cedar and spice. The bag is finally removed from my head and I’m greeted with the culmination of every book boyfriend I’ve ever had. And apparently he’s the guy in charge who gets to decide my fate. Ninety-nine percent of me is filled with abject terror. But one, teeny, tiny percent of me can’t help but feel like I’m finally having an adventure of my own.
2. Loved by the Mafia Underboss - Luca:
She’s late to her best friend’s wedding rehearsal. Of course, she’s late. I sigh in frustration, but Freya just grins at me, like she always does. It annoys me to no end that she’s not intimidated by me in the least. As the underboss of the Moscatelli family, I command the attention, respect, and often the fear of everyone around me. So why does Freya find me to be such a great source of entertainment? The fiery little redhead with curves for days is going to be the death of me, but something tells me she just might be worth it.
Freya:
He’s so serious all the time. And quiet. And broody. And boy does he find me infuriating. I love it. I’ve become quite the expert in how to annoy Luca. He doesn’t like it when I chew my gum loudly, or take my shoes off and run through the ridiculous mansion to find Darlene, or shout across the library, or blast Cardi B in my car as I drive away from the compound. In fact, he doesn’t seem to like it when I make any noise at all. Which only makes me want to be louder. When my past comes back to haunt me, can I really depend on the man I’ve spent so long tormenting to help? He seems awfully determined to prove he can take care of me. The crazy thing is, I might just let him.
3. Kept by the Mafia Enforcer - Rocco: I was sent to collect the eighteen-year-old mafia princess, Alessia Ricci. Why Luca and Matteo elected me, the six-foot-seven, hulking enforcer to do a simple pick up and delivery is beyond me, but orders are orders. I’ll admit the gorgeous, curvy goddess threw me for a loop the first time I saw her. But when she turned her nose up at me and treated me like a servant, I knew she was every bit the spoiled brat I expected her to be. I didn’t expect, however, that Alessia would give me the slip. Twice. Now I’m chasing her down with more determination than ever. Her impressive disappearing acts intrigued me. Her golden eyes drew me in. But it’s her quiet strength that has me hunting her down so I can make the princess mine. Finders keepers, after all.
Alessia: I can’t believe I’m doing this. Defying the men who control my life. Starting over somewhere new. My inspiration while preparing for my big escape was Regina George from Mean Girls. Spoiled, arrogant, and entitled to boot. I sprinkled in a little bit of Scarlett O’Hara for good measure. For all my research and planning though, nothing prepared me for Rocco. He’s tall, ripped, and bearded, with hands that look like they could crush me. Or do other things to me. Not that I would know anything about that. It was his rich dark brown eyes that really got to me, though. But I’m being naive. It’s a crush, nothing more. Why then do I want him to chase me? I’ve been kept under lock and key my whole life, but the idea of being kept by Rocco has me questioning my plans to disappear. I hope it doesn’t take him too long to find me…

I may have an obsession. Just a tiny one. Just a short, curvy, sweet little obsession with violet eyes and a smile that makes my chest ache.
