Bellamy and Declan O’Neill return home to the small New England town of Blossom Creek to deal with a bequest that neither of them wants: joint ownership of his late grandmother’s bed and breakfast. As they arrive in town, the estranged couple is convinced of two things: their marriage needs to end, and the last thing either of them wants is to be in business together. But, the terms of the will are clear: they must run the bed and breakfast, which is also a one stop wedding venue, together, at least until the estate is settled, and it can only be sold if they both agree. Bellamy immediately sees the bequest for what it is: Declan’s grandmother’s last attempt at matchmaking. She knows Grandma Rosie died believing that she and Declan still love each other and belong together. As they work together to fulfill the inn’s only remaining commitment, a wedding, they find themselves remembering what brought them together in the first place and how much they loved each other. But will that be enough to overcome the one issue they cannot resolve? Or will a surprise neither of them anticipated change everything?

After her husband is killed in action, Kathleen O’Neill Taylor is left to raise her baby daughter alone. When her brother inherits their grandmother’s B and B, which is also a one stop wedding venue, Katie puts her baking skills to use and opens up a small bakery in the inn, specializing in wedding cakes and cookies. Blossom Creek Police Chief Nolan Thompson, who is literally the boy next door, has been in love with Katie since grade school but reluctantly accepts his role as her friend just to have her in his life. But something changes between the two of them and he cautiously begins to hope for more. As they spend more time together Katie wrestles with her growing feelings for him and little by little opens her heart to the possibility. Then Nolan’s Air Force reserve unit is called up and he faces deployment to a war zone. All the things she holds dear, home, family, safety and security, are tested. The thought of once again loving someone who is heading into harm’s way terrifies her, and she pushes him away. Will she realize love is something you have to grab hold of before it’s too late, or will her second chance at love slip away?
