Elizabeth’s father has suddenly received a letter from a young lady in France, claiming to be the niece that he thought had died in the French Revolution with her parents. Is Giselle Barrand an imposter? He resolves to travel immediately to France, and Elizabeth persuades him that she should accompany him.
In France, though, political events are sweeping through the nation, once again. And when Mr Darcy shows up at the Barrand’s front door, offering assistance, Elizabeth is shocked. This is the man who deliberately separated her dear sister Jane from her beloved, Mr Bingley. And then there is what he did to poor Mr Wickham. Why should she be polite to him?
Giselle Barrand thinks that Mr Darcy is very agreeable, however. And then there is Mr Bingley’s younger brother, Percy, who is immediately smitten with the French beauty. Who will Giselle choose, and why does it bother Elizabeth so much?
Through the battlefield of pride and prejudice, Elizabeth and Mr Darcy must learn to negotiate, somehow. But the weapons will not be put down easily, as the two are forced together through circumstances beyond their control.
