What Price Freedom? #2: Silken has been freed from the life of a Courtesan -- a sex slave, the property of greedy Keeper. However, the man who has purchased his contract and broken his chains is not a man at all. Nanashi is a Nightwalker, a vampire, and there is no guessing what he may want out of the relationship he demands with Silken.
Silken has fallen in love with Nanashi, and would do anything to make him happy but he doesn't understand how to live life as a free man. Nanashi must take it upon himself, using stories and sex and love, to teach Silken how to spread his wings.
All the same, Silken is reluctant. All his life, he's been taught that pleasure comes at a cost. What price does freedom charge a man?
Freedom's Fire #2.1: Short story featuring Silken and Nanashi from "Freedom Rising." Nanashi wants Silken to take a more assertive role in their relationship, but Silken has trouble letting go of the servicing role of a courtesan. So, Nanashi challenges Silken to teach him to be a courtesan!
