1. Curtis - I don’t know if it was the pain that made her look like an angel or if I was really seeing her for what she was, but she was one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Her long black hair was tied back in a sleek ponytail, silvery colored eyes, and even in her baggy scrubs, I could tell that she had a body to die for.
She didn't seem to be afraid of me either, not like Margie, the little nurse. I knew that Mike had a big crush on Margie, but she had grown up in Greenleaf and wouldn't go anywhere near him as he was a member of the Black Hearts. Not that I can blame her. Margie was a good girl and didn't need to get mixed up in our club scene.
2. Drake - Liz
It’s hard for me to not have my gaze slide over him again. All of the tattooed muscle is enough to make a girl swoon. I just know under the plain black t-shirt, washboard abs are hiding. I look at his bike, and the leather jacket casually draped over the seat and reign my thoughts in. He might look like he walked out of my favorite bike show with his muscles, tattoos, dark hair, and piercing blue eye, but he is off-limits. I need this teaching job, and I can’t risk it by getting involved with someone who is running drugs and illegal poker games.
I know as a teacher, bland and boring should be what I want. A little house with a picket fence and kids running around. That’s what I should want, but I don’t. This hot biker in front of me, oozing danger and adrenaline, is more my type. I shiver, thinking about how his rough, callused skin felt against mine; the warmth of his skin seemed to seep into me. I saw him peruse my body, and when our eyes met, the heat I saw made me want to melt into his arms. I need to stay away from this man; he could be dangerous.
Drake
I’m in trouble, and I’m going to need some help. I shake my head at the thought. Even with the kid in tow, I’m still the President of an illegal biker gang. I pour another cup of coffee into my extra-large mug. I didn’t sleep all night just sat on the deck, looking up at the stars, thinking about what it is I want out of my life. I want to be with Liz. I know that I’m in love with her. She is so good with Sunny, and we all just fit together. I know that I need to step down from the club and go straight, but I’m terrified by the thought. The club is all I’ve known since I was a 14-year-old kid. What if I can’t hack it going straight? What if I fail Sunny and Liz?
