A Gilded Age estate in Rhode Island, Blackhurst is a well-guarded fortress beneath its elegant facade. Cyril Blink rules his dominion with an iron fist but has his hands full with the willful academic haunting his antiquities vault. Professor Farris Elliot might be overqualified to manage the estate’s collection of priceless art and artifacts but he’s also a thorn in Cyril’s side. Farris has his own secrets and Cyril learns that the cranky professor isn’t bitter beneath his tweed suits. He’s actually rather sweet and tempting and Cyril finds himself breaking his own rules.
A string of curious events and an attack brings a mystery to Blackhurst and Cyril vows to find those responsible and have his revenge.
4. Locke Out - Objective: Get snowed in with Wells Vaughan and seduce him. Or else.
Failure isn’t an option when Mr. Blink demands results but Thaddeus’s plan goes awry almost as soon as he arrives in Montana. Getting snowed in is the easy part, it’s the lying and scheming that gets tricky when Thaddeus’s heart and conscience start acting up.
No good deed goes unpunished, Llewellyn “Wells” Vaughan learns when he offers a handsome, stranded stranger a place to ride out the storm. It’s almost too good to be true after eight years of near solitude but Wells doesn’t question his luck. Who passes up the chance to have a hot fling when the perfect man practically lands on your doorstep and seduces you?
But Thaddeus Locke is far from perfect and finds himself with an impossible problem he may not be able to solve. He has to convince a good, honest man to accept a morally indecent offer with almost no hope of success. But you can’t take your eye off of Mr. Speed, as Blink and Lavender are about to learn. He’s a master of chaos and deception and he’s been waiting for the perfect opportunity to make his move.
Blake West was only meant to be a ticket into Lake Cliff but finds himself caught up in Speed’s trap. The cocky young real estate agent has always idolized his heroic older brother but Blake discovers that things are not what they seem in this particular suburb. Blake doesn’t think he has what it takes to run with the big boys but he might be the only one who can stop Speed in his tracks.
What happens when chaos comes to town and meets his match in the least likely of heroes? Will Speed reveal what’s up his sleeve and can Blake prove the dashing trickster isn’t beyond redemption?
