For the Love of the Game series by Alex Washoe (#1,3-4)
Requirements: .MOBI reader, 8.6 MB
Overview: Alex Washoe (they/them) is a nonbinary writer, game designer, and full-time pet parent living in Seattle, WA. In previous incarnations, they have been a bookseller, a wildlife rehab care assistant, a dog walker at a companion animal shelter, a public speaker, an amateur stand-up comedian, and many other less interesting things. Alex is prone to sudden, seemingly random enthusiasms — the list currently includes birdwatching, baking, running, hair dye … and of course writing. Writing is always job one.
Genre: Fiction > Romance FF

Simply Connected (#1)
Once a celebrated child prodigy, Blaise Noether is now a struggling widowed mom trying to keep her head above water while she pursues her Ph.D. Only two things make her really angry: her kid's math textbooks and jocks. In her mind, all athletes are like the bullies who terrorized her in high school. So when she crosses paths with rising basketball star Christie Dillard, Blaise's interest is a null set. Christie is everything Blaise fears, fiercely competitive, brashly confident, and totally devoted to her game. That she is also endearingly awkward and irresistibly gorgeous is irrelevant data.
But when Blaise glimpses a paradigm-shifting epiphany in the geometry of Christie’s jump shot, she begins to suspect this jock might be the missing variable that could balance the equation of her life.
The Comeback (#3)
How hard would you fight for a Christmas Miracle?
Teressa Gutierrez, known as the Cyclone for her unparalleled speed and ferocity, was the most dominant Featherweight champion in the history of women’s mixed martial arts — until a devastating defeat almost ended her career. Everyone thought she was finished, but Teressa refused to give up. A hard-nosed realist who believes in nothing but muscle and courage, she comes to Seattle looking for a miracle: one last shot at glory and redemption. And she’s ready to crush anything that stands in her way.
Cameron Shaw is a struggling novelist who needs a break. When a sports agent friend sets up a gig to cover the big fight, ala Norman Mailer and Ali, Cameron detests the idea but has no choice but to accept.
From the moment these two meet, sparks fly. Worlds apart, they find themselves in the grip of something they can’t resist, something bigger than championships or art. Fate — and the Spirit of the Season — seems to want them together — even if they’re both fighting with every fiber of their being to resist.
Badgered (#4)
COMING FOR PRIDE MONTH -- can a Machiavellian furry and a laid-back Rugby player find love? Are cunning and clever tricks the path to happily ever after? And why are all those furries being dragged out of the City Council meeting?
Arugula J. Cunningham, the self-crowned wunderkind of the Seattle sports scene and city politics, is up to her ears (the tall floppy ones on top of her head) in problems. The new Mayor wants her to sign on full time, which would mean abandoning her thriving business; her ex-girlfriend is furious; and the permits for the Furry Pride Parade still haven’t been approved. Just when it seems her life couldn’t get crazier, she’s run over (literally) by the most infuriating athlete she’s ever met.
Wendy Plunkett is a talented rugby player who has never quite committed to her dreams. After playing for the New Zealand national team and missing the Olympics by a cottontail’s whisker, she’s come to the US for a chance at bigger money – and to escape her toxic family. Now her contract is up in the air, and her whole family has descended on the US for a wedding from Hell. No bloody way she’s showing up at that wedding unemployed and single – but why did she have to tell her family that the aggravating girl in the rabbit ears is her soulmate?
