1. Just a Single Dad - Olivia
Small towns? Everybody up in your business? Not my thing. Give me the mind-your-own-business big city. I’m just in Gardner for a couple days to catch my breath after losing the consulting job I loved, and the man I thought I loved.
Until I catch sight of a breathtakingly beautiful little girl, then her flannel-and-scruff single dad. With my ovaries crying louder than my common sense, I unpack my bags and settle in for a spell.
Tyler
In small towns like Gardner, some things are absolute. There’s no such thing as privacy. There will always be bad blood between certain families. And second chances don’t just drop into the local diner for a turkey sandwich. Do they?
Olivia has city and temporary written all over her, and my kneejerk reaction is to keep my sunshine-and-two-million-questions daughter from getting attached. But when I get into a bind, Olivia surprises me in ways I never expected. But when the past starts pushing and shoving, there may not be room in this small town for temporary to become permanent.

2. Just a Proposal - Olivia
Culture shock. It’s a thing. The small-town diner I work at might as well be a fish bowl, and I’m the lone, exotic beta everyone’s staring at. Probably running a Tyler-and-Olivia pool for “are they or aren’t they”, “will they or won’t they”. And you know what? I want in.
Because who drops a “we’re engaged” bomb right in the middle of the shaky ground between us? Tyler does. My city-bred head tells me he’s gotta be bluffing, that it’s all about getting his ex off his back. My heart says something different. Besides, I made a promise to his little girl, Lucy, and if he makes me break it, I’ll break his nose.
* * *
Tyler
It's bad when I’m wondering if the turkey club from the diner is just a turkey club, or pity food from Olivia. I didn’t mean for Lucy to overhear my joking declaration. Half joking. Hell, not joking at all.
I freely admit it was made in desperation. But if this fake engagement thing can break the ice between us, it’ll be worth every burned pancake Lucy had to endure to make Olivia a permanent part of our lives.

3. Just a Rock Star - Mila
You know what they say about opinions. They’re like…you know. Everybody’s got one. They told me to do something productive. Find a nice, stable guy. Settle down. Play it safe.
Instead, my little rebel heart and hit the road to sing rock ‘n roll. People are listening. And to my surprise, I’m feeling little twinges of homesickness. It helps that I’m touring with the Silas Rhodes, the grumpiest, road-hardened rock star on the planet.
And I’m one shot of whiskey away from dragging his delicious butt to bed.
Silas
I’ve charted some hits, and touring is in my blood. Mila’s got real talent, but those milk-chocolate eyes are as wide and innocent as a sunrise. The road would eat her alive if it wasn’t for me. And damn if I’m not one shot of whiskey away from doing something stupid.
When she gets an emergency call from home, her tears tip the scales toward doing something epically stupid. Because doing what’s best for Mila is priority number one. Even if that means digging a few trenches and building a few bridges.
Even if it means saying goodbye.

4. Just a Positive Pregnancy Test - Mila
Looks like my plans for the day have changed. I took a pregnancy test or…ten. Ten tests (yes, that’s one-zero), one life-changing result.
Pregnant.
How do I tell Silas he’s about to be a dad? He’s on the road, doing what he loves. I could really use a drink right now. Bad joke. I’m a good person. I don’t even know how this happened. I mean, I know, but…you know?
Sometimes, there just aren’t enough chocolate chip cookies in the world. And that’s before I discover I’m not the only one sprouting a new twig on the Justa family tree.
* * *
Silas
My life, my home, is out here on the road. But now something is missing. Mila. Sunrises-and-rainbows Mila, who grabbed my heart and made me believe in all that garbage about forever.
If only her baggage didn’t include that damned town, that damned Justa family. But when I get that call from Mila, I know it’s time to go back and face the music. Go home.
And figure out what I’m going to do with that mental t-shirt that reads, “I’ll never be a father. Change my mind.”

5. Just a Fling - Evelyn
I’m a Rohrick. Becoming a cop makes sense. You know that doesn’t? Sneaking around with Crosby Justa. Yeah, the very thing I promised Mom I’d never do—get involved with a Justa man.
What can I say? I like what he does to me in bed. I hate him for making me walk around with this…tingling need…all day. But there’s no regret. Not even close. And yeah, the idea we’re doing this right under our families’ noses makes it that much hotter.
Crosby
Sleeping with Evelyn Rohrick wasn’t the end of the world. Until we get caught. Now it’s the end of the world. Or, at least, the end of our dirty secret. Gotta give Evelyn credit, she doesn’t run. She’s a Rohrick. They thrive off making awkward situations even more…awkward.
Now that we’re outed, we have something to prove. That this thing between us isn’t serious. We can stop anytime. Move on. Date other people. This urge to ruin each other’s dates, by foul means or fouler? That’s just the old family feud talking. Not the fact we’re perfect for each other…

6. Just a Wedding - Evelyn
It’s only fitting I run off in the middle of the night to secretly marry Crosby Justa, right?
We battle through a disastrous bathroom break, a broken down truck, and a torrential downpour only to have to come back home and pretend like nothing happened.
Our families aren’t okay with our so-called “fling” – so, marriage? That’s way out of the question.
There’s just one problem. Small town gossip flows faster than an overflown creek in a rain storm.
In other words, our secret is out.
Everyone is pissed with a capital P.
My family won’t look me in the eyes and my new in-laws aren’t exactly eager to invite me over for dinner.
Meaning this is exactly as I figured it would be.
* * *
Crosby
What can I say. Evelyn Justa has a nice ring to it.
What doesn’t have a nice ring to it is the sound of my mother’s voice when she finds out her baby boy married into the enemy family.
If that’s not enough, my father-in-law picks me up in his police cruiser in an attempt to scare me. And my brother-in-law wants to fight me – as if we didn’t do that twenty times back in high school.
Nothing I can’t handle though.
Including a shocking twist of events which has both our families planning wedding receptions for my new bride and I on the same day, across the street from one another. The result? An epic food fight that’ll be talked about for generations.
Just when I think things may possibly calm down a little, a harsh reality puts our new marriage to the test.

7. Just a Drink - Anna
The car accident has changed my life.
The reason why the accident happened will forever be my secret to keep.
Now that I’m forced out of work for, all I have is time. Boredom becomes my best friend.
In fact, I get so bored, I visit the family ranch.
It’s the absolute last place in the world I would ever be caught seen at.
It’s also the absolute last place I expect to find the man the heals me, saves me, and loves me.
* * *
Landon
I’m the guy with the checkered past that’s good company for one night and nothing more.
That’s usually how most of my nights go.
Then comes the morning I literally stumble across the kind of trouble that could put me away for a long time – maybe even the rest of my life.
I have only one choice.
Run.
Thanks to favor through a family member, I end up on a quiet ranch in a small town.
My job is to stay invisible and earn my keep.
The first time I meet Anna Justa I quickly realize she’s not just the opposite of me but she’s the opposite of any woman I’ve ever been with.
She doesn’t like animals. She doesn’t like the ranch. And she does not like me.
Which works perfect.
We need to stay away from each other.
Getting too close to a man like me might end up costing you your life.

8. Just a Kiss - Anna
I’m in love with a murderer?
Is that even possible?
Wait - of course it’s possible…
Landon’s been taken away in handcuffs.
He’s the last person I expect to ever seen again.
My heart is broken.
I’m lost.
And there’s only one person who can find me and save me.
And then… he sudden appears again… but how?
And for how long?
* * *
Landon
I fall in love.
Then I get arrested for murder.
Everyone knows I’m innocent.
But I’m still stuck in my hometown jail, waiting for answers.
The last person I ever expect to see comes and bails me out.
So I can get back to Anna.
If she’ll have me.
Proving my innocence to the world is one thing.
Proving my love to Anna Justa is a whole other thing.
I’m ready for the fight of my life.
Anna’s heart and trust and love mean everything to me.
Without her, I’d rather just rot away behind bars.
Welcome to the part where truth and trust collide.
