An Improper Lady (#1): The wealthy, orphaned Fenwick Sisters are determined to make good marriages. They're making their way through the ton with military precision, trying to add stability to their reputations and ensure a successful future for both themselves and their future families. But all the planning in the world is useless against unexpected, passionate love - and Julia, Diana, Phoebe, Lydia and Agnes, along with the gentlemen caught in their charming orbit, will soon discover that preparation is far less fun than seizing the moment!

Julia Fenwick is determined. As the oldest and most practical Fenwick sister, she knows full well that an advantageous marriage is the only way to ensure continuing status for herself and her sisters in the ton. To that end, she's made a list of England's most eligible suitors and ruthlessly ignored those who will attract gossip - even Jonathan Crowe, Duke of Southill, whose title is more than overpowered by his louche attitude and scandalous reputation.

But as confident as Julia is about her marriageable qualities, there's one aspect of being a wife that she knows very little about. Carnal aspects of a union. She doesn't like to be unprepared, but she doesn't know how to go about preparing. As she considers the problem, she can't help thinking about the Duke of Southill's infamous skills in that department... and above all, his famed discretion.

Would a course of salacious education be so very wicked? Probably not. In fact, it would be useful. Terribly useful, if she wishes to be a perfect wife... and as for a sentimental entanglement, well, such an idea would be ridiculous. Yes. A course of seduction with the Duke of Southill. But will Julia be able to remain so remorselessly practical? And will the Duke of Southill, long turned against the very idea of marriage, suddenly find himself saddled with far more than he bargained for?

A Singular Sweetheart (#2): The wealthy, orphaned Fenwick Sisters are determined to make good marriages.

Phoebe Fenwick is confused. As the overlooked middle Fenwick sister, considered plain and irritatingly high-minded by almost everyone outside of her own family, she’s been looking forward to one of her only friends returning home. Hugh Winthrop, her shy, bespectacled friend, is finally coming back from his year in Geneva–but when he finally arrives, he’s very different. Apparently, Geneva changed more than Hugh’s scholarly outlook–more specifically, his looks–and the handsome man who walks into the ballroom is almost unrecognisable. What’s more, when they eventually speak, he has something very important to ask her…

Hugh Winthrop can hardly bear what’s happened to him. His new, spectacular good looks have made him both popular and pursued, two things that he doesn’t know how to manage–and what’s worse, the specter of marriage is in the air. If there’s anything he knows absolutely nothing about, it’s pleasing woman, especially when it comes to the carnal arts, and his natural timidity makes approaching a professional woman impossible.

He’d settle for knowing how to kiss. Learning how to kiss with someone who didn’t intimidate him at all: a friend of long acquaintance, who would understand the essentially scholarly nature of the act. Someone like Phoebe Fenwick, the most intelligent women he knows, would be the perfect candidate.

Kissing Phoebe Fenwick. Perhaps going further, for scholarship’s sake. What could possibly go wrong?

An Impossible Kiss (#3): The wealthy, orphaned Fenwick Sisters are determined to make good marriages.

Lydia Fenwick is in trouble. Trying to establish her place in the ton despite a group of young ladies determined to bring her down, she's invented a charistmatic gentleman to write letters to. Mr. Morden Blake is handsome, glowering, and in possession of both a pet hawk and a vast estate near Scotland - and has the tremendous advantage of not being real, meaning Lydia can dispose of him when she sees fit. Yes, it's an audacious lie, but something must be done to attain social status... until, on the night of a particularly important ball, Mr. Morden Blake arrives at the house.

Morden Blake will do anything for a joke. The carefree young gentleman, desperate for excitement, can't believe his luck when a bundle of letters are mistakenly delivered to him. Yes, they're ostensibly addressed to him, but the Morden Blake described in the letters is completely different to himself - and he's certainly never met a Miss Lydia Fenwick. Still, when he finds an invitation to a Fenwick ball amidst the bundle, the oppportunity to surprise Miss Fenwick can't possibly be resisted.

He doesn't expect to be welcomed. Quite frankly, he doesn't expect to make it past the front door. But Lydia Fenwick, once she recovers from her shock, decides that she can make use of him - and Morden is far too polite to disagree.

It's hard to live up to the standards of an imaginary gentleman. But could the truth be far sweeter than fiction?

A Reckless Affair (#4): The wealthy, orphaned Fenwick Sisters are determined to make good marriages.

Diana Fenwick doesn't usually hate people. Preferring books and ironic detachment to the messier business of romantic life, she's unused to both violent emotions and the people who inspire them - which makes her sudden and complete loathing for Maximilian de Feur, a close friend of her brother in law, a shock.
She hates Max. Hates him so much that she can't resist irritating him every chance she gets - why, it's almost become an obsession. And Max, rather than remaining coolly remote from the tension, seems all too keen to participate in the crackling, opinionated exchange of views. It's all, in a strange way, quite fun... until things suddenly come to a head, and Diana's left battling unexpected sentiments.
Such startling passion should be ignored. It can't lead to anything good. But now that she has a taste for more than Max's insults, appetite is slowly growing into craving - and Max, much to his own surprise, is just as desperate as Diana to explore what could come from such an unexpected attraction...
