But what he wants is something else altogether.
He has three mates, some of the biggest, baddest men in town, each more beautiful than the next. The last thing he needs is another, more socially acceptable partner. So in exchange for my help in deflecting his parents' attentions, he'll Bridgerton the situation, squiring me about town, drawing other men's eyes, helping me find The One.
So why is it their gaze I feel on me the most, tracking my every movement? All in the name of protection, of course.
Society wants me to be a good girl. They don't want another mate.
But fate? She has completely different ideas about our futures.
2. Bad Girl - Once upon a time, there was a girl in love with a boy and the two of them thought they’d spend the rest of their lives together, happily ever after.
And then we changed.
Out of all the designations we could reveal as we both had to become this: something completely incompatible.
But that hasn’t stopped us, each circling the other, him needing me, me needing him.
And both of us needing something else. Something we can’t give the other.
We thought we had it sorted, going to clubs, using those that think they’re stronger, better than us to fulfil our needs, but always, always staying true to the other.
And then they came and ruined it, bursting our into our tense little situation and promising us something else altogether: a façade to protect us, a means to be together.
Which, of course, we grabbed with both hands.
But in the process, we grabbed a whole lot more than we had expected and everything is about to change.
Will the girl and the boy get their happily ever after, or will they get exactly what they need?
3. Defiant Girl - This is a continuation of Kit and Tris' story, as started in Bad Girl
I've been betrayed by my own family, but that's OK, I've created my own to replace them. Tris, Len, Jackson and even the mysterious James, they're mine now and no one is going to break us apart.
My brother is trying to blackmail my family anonymously using a video of me. My father wants me mated to James no matter what. The powerful Chadwick family wants their beloved grandson mated to a suitable girl and they think that might be me. And no one wants what I have with my pack to endure.
Beforehand I was a bad girl, committing petty little social crimes at the edges of my family's sphere of influence, but the time for childish games is over. If I'm to keep the pack I know Tris and I need, I'm need to rise up and show I'm just as prepared to deploy all the power I've gathered to keep them safe.
No matter what it takes.
4. A Good Girl Christmas - “Every person is paired up with another and we have to do something for them. An experience, an event, a gesture. More than socks and undies under the Christmas tree. Something that communicates how we feel about them.”
Marcus is at it again, but this time he's being open with the pack. Feeling out of his depth, unable to truly understand how a healthy relationship works, he wants everyone to make some sort of gesture for the others to show how they feel.
But as per usual, he's playing with fire.
This pack may have found their way towards each other, but what happens when you're required to put exactly how you feel out there on the line? Join Cyn and the gang as they work through a series of increasingly sweet tableaus, discovering exactly how they feel about each other as they go and just what they want from the relationship.
