The deal is simple. Rescue a female human in exchange for my freedom. Sounds easy, right? It’s not, because she’s my mate.

I don’t want to want her. But I can’t help fate. I don’t want her smile to affect me, but it freakin’ does. Perhaps we could live happily ever after, except there’s one big problem.

Talk about an awkward meeting with the in-laws. This one’s gonna be a war.

The one woman who can melt the stripes on my tiger.
She’s got a body that makes me bolt upright.
Kara’s very competitive. Always wanting to do things herself.
My beauty wants to make the world a better place.

And the rock in my storm.

Even though her world is the opposite of mine,

My panther side purrs in her presence.
I won’t leave her side.

But what does a city girl and a soldier-for-hire have in common?

8. Shield - The Supermax nearly killed me.
I had almost given up.
But she saved me. She’s shown me something I never knew existed. I can see forever in her eyes.
For the first time in my life, I have a reason to live.
She’s depending on me to help her find a serial killer.
Once he learned I found my mate, she became a target.
Now she’s got his full attention.
Revenge is too good to pass up. She’s a means for him to end me, but I’m not letting anyone near her.

The Supermax drained my soul.

Unless they want something.
They’re offering me freedom in exchange for help.
My help capturing the second-most-wanted burglar.
What else did I have to do with my time? Nothing.
So I agreed.
Maybe fate was finally on my side.
No. No it wasn’t.
Who knew females wanted equal opportunity in crime too?
Now I have to choose.
I can go back to the hell I was in or send my mate there.
