I know now, if I’m going to track down this savage killer I need to make a deal with a devil.
And keeping a strangle hold on this snake isn’t going to be easy.
I'm not a quitter.

I'm going to stop this dark magic monster from claiming more victims.

2. A Promised Deception - Current Portal Agency status? My boyfriend, the bosses son, and my ex who’s betrayed me multiple times all on the same case.
This Portal Agency investigation is getting heated for all the wrong reasons.
And if you think this triangle of sexy men is helping my situation, you are sorely mistaken.
My magic instructor says “You’ve got this” but I have a nagging feeling I’m not ready and maybe never will be.
What’s not helping? Someone’s overnighting body parts to my house and sending cryptic letters to the office.
You’d think the freaking Zodiac had risen from the dead and that is exactly what he says he wants to do.

I can see it in Dorian's eyes and he knows I’m hiding something.
I just can’t bring myself to tell him yet.
Our relationship is eroding, and you know how that chips away at your heart.

Our latest mission has us in the underbelly of the magic world and it's dark and twisted.
Don’t get me wrong there are some very good things here.
It’s just hard to see them through this veil of deceit.
Cause when you work with the devil, well...

And maybe that's his legacy, and revealing this truth would turn the whole realm upside down.

That is till I chased a kidnapping suspect into a restaurant washroom, and he vanished into thin air.
Now I’ve been thrown headfirst into a hidden world, where I came face to face with Damian, a Fae agent.
He's broken, something I know all too well.
The kidnapper infiltrated my home, had me kicked off the case, and took whatever morsels of a life I still held onto.
Now a shadow agency has crossed my path, with an offer that seems too good to be true - revenge.
Working with Damian makes my blood boil - in more ways than one - but that’s not why I’m here.
After my heartbreak, the only thing that matters is work and lots of it.
As we pulled back the curtains of deception, we realized we might not have the right suspect in our sights, and are in more danger than we can handle.
