I wish.
Freshly divorced, minimum wage job, and a single bed apartment wasn't the life I envisioned. So when the archangel, Michael, appeared to say he needed me to help him hunt the archdemon, Asmodeus, I looked around for the TV cameras.
Things got serious when the angel handed me my long-lost father's signet cross ring, telling me Dad was still alive and that Asmodeus was the reason he disappeared.
Now Michael had my attention.
Dad was a HITRON sniper in the Coast Guard. He taught me everything I know about shooting before vanishing the day after my mother's funeral.
Point blank, if Heaven needed a sniper, they found the right girl.
Next thing I know, I'm swept into a team with brash, tattooed, ordained Scottish warrior, Callum MacRae, to track down the demon responsible for the wreck that was my life. My rifle was loaded with special rounds designed to separate Asmodeus from the human he possessed, giving him physical form and allowing him to be destroyed.
Could I make my parting shot?
If I failed, the world would burn.
2. Double Shot - Turns Out Saving the World is a Full-Time Job
I'm learning to embrace my inner sniper.
How does that old saying go? If one archdemon isn't enough, send two! Okay, maybe people don't say that, but after Callum and I sent Asmodeus back to Hell, Lucifer sure tried it. Belphegor and Abaddon showed up in Detroit with designs on taking us down.
Their goal? End the war between Heaven and Hell, once and for all.
Our little dynamic duo stands in their way.
Abaddon is one scary demon, and Belphegor is Hell's greatest warrior. Surviving them will take a miracle.
And then there's this thing between me and Callum. I mean, am I an idiot to be falling for a seven-hundred year old ordained Scotsman?
Isn't being an idiot what love is all about?
Speaking of idiots, my ex keeps finding just the wrong time to inject himself back into my life.
Two demons. Two men. Too much. It's like I'm living two lives.
Time for a shot.
Better make it a double.
