Overview: Charlotte’s letter inviting Lizzy to come to the parsonage sooner than their planned for date causes a frisson of unease to fall upon her. It is clear to Lizzy that Charlotte is worried about something, but she does not explain what is amiss. With Jane away in London, Lizzy decides to leave for Kent early. Mr. Bennet reluctantly agrees, but there is a sisterly catch. Lizzy is not deterred for she is determined to discover Charlotte’s worry and will do everything in her power to alleviate it.

Darcy and his cousin, Colonel Fitzwilliam, also set off for Rosings Park earlier than intended. Not long after their arrival in Kent, Lizzy discovers something disturbing and Darcy is soon in the midst of a type of danger he never knew existed. Is Elizabeth Bennet the lady he thought her, or is she something more?
