My dad is the prosecutor,
And he was supposed to be spending time with me during my break from college,
But obviously he’s too busy for that.
Until some guys come rushing through the front door ready to take my life.
A biker shows up and steals me away.
He takes me to a safehouse and hides me from everyone else.
The grumpy man doesn’t want to talk to me.
My dad won’t answer my phone calls.
And I’ve got a really bad feeling about the questions my rescuer doesn’t want to answer.
KID
My job with the club is simple- treasurer.
It lets me stay away from people as much as possible,
Which is exactly how I like it.
When I get a call that a girl is in danger, I don’t hesitate.
I rush in to save her.
Unfortunately, she’s the only one left to save.
She’s all alone now,
And it’s my job to protect her-
From the truth, from herself, from her grief.
But I have no idea how things can go back to normal after all this.
Solitary Confinement (#3)
DEZ
When there are problems, I run.
Either head-first right into them with my fists up and my chest out,
Or in the opposite direction with fear in my heart.
I’ve been running from a good thing for awhile,
Trying to find my way through this life.
My parents had another kid before me,
One they left behind before I was born.
My big brother hates me,
But I’m determined.
This time, I’m going to win.
I’ll beat my disease and get my brother, my man, and my happily ever after.
I’m not giving in this time.
GUY
I’m stuck in the middle of a crazy world, and I like it that way.
The love of my life is always running, but he also always comes back.
Even if he gave up on me, he’d come back for his brother,
My president.
If they ever asked me to choose, I already know who it would be,
But I hope they don’t.
Dez is back, but for how long?
He says he intends to stay, for real this time,
But I’ve heard that before.
How am I going to learn to trust him again,
After all he’s done to hurt me?
Trick Play (#4)
PAISLEY
I’m just trying to survive.
I lost my job,
Lost my last fight in the ring,
And now I’m going to lose my apartment.
While I’m contemplating how to keep my life going,
A giant man slides into my passenger seat and tells me to drive.
I don’t trust men,
But this one works to keep me safe.
Even when I threaten him.
He tells me to call him if I need him.
I won’t.
ROWAN
As the enforcer for the club, I take care of things.
I also tend to get in trouble often, but it’s all in fun.
When I find myself in a little bit of a tough spot,
I jump in the first fast car I find.
A beautiful girl being behind the wheel is just a perk.
She is NOT welcoming to me,
And how exciting is this fearless little creature?
I think I’m falling in love within the first few minutes.
I have to track her down again to give her my number.
She says she won’t need me.
Until she does.
Paisley’s past means she doesn’t trust men easily,
And I understand.
I won’t push her,
But I will have her.
There’s just a few... small obstacles to overcome on our way.
Playing for Keeps (#5)
HALEY
I thought being a nurse would be exciting,
But my particular job is very boring.
One of the admin workers convinces me to go to a bar,
And I meet two men there who both seem to want me.
What’s more exciting than bringing two men home?
The next weekend, I recognize one of them out again,
And I let him and his friend take me home.
But the next morning, I find out that I was wrong.
The man I recognized last night wasn’t Kason- it was his twin.
Four men stand in my dining room and tell me they want me,
But I wouldn’t want to be with even one biker, much less four of them.
I try to keep my distance, but they won’t give me much space.
It’s tough to get an apology out of a man like these,
But even harder not to forgive one,
Especially when they’re always there when you need them.
Karson, Kason, Wes, and Asher promise all the excitement I could ever dream of.
Do I want to go back to my boring old life,
Or risk it all for them?
