1. Moshe - Moshe
As the Avraham Avinu, or father of the Jewish Mafia, my shoulders bear a heavy burden. The safety of not only my family, but those that have pledged their allegiance to me, is only the tip of the iceberg. I work hard, and I play harder. My brothers, cousins and I are never without willing company, however, our mothers are not shy about voicing their desires for us to find someone that grounds us, balances the bloodshed with unconditional support and love.
I've never shied away from my responsibilities, I've never run when I could fight.
And despite her many, many rejections, Seril is worth fighting for. Her safety becomes paramount and I will stand between her and danger everytime, willing to go to any length to ensure it.
After all, I've got plenty of ammo.
2. Jonah - Jonah
Most of my life was planned since before I was born. I am to serve the Avraham Avinu of the Kosher Nostra in North Carolina and protect the mishpocheh with my life. Despite the heavy that description implies, I have enjoyed a blessed and propserous existance of glutton and indulgence. I run Swingin' Schlay Productions, a porn studio and one of many legit businesses that fill my own coffers, as well as the coffers of the Mischpocheh Consortium. Right before our Avinu, Moshe and his fiance Seril tie the knot, a new acquisition at the studio has me questioning who I am as a man and what I want out of life most. One pleasured plea and I know in my soul, that I no longer only serve Moshe and the family, I serve her...and I will ignore concussions and warnings to shed all the blood necessary to keep her safe.
Because she is mine.
3. Zeppo - Ruth
Paleontologist? Police Officer? Doctor? Not me. When asked in school what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always the same; Zeppo Kraus' wife and the mother of his children. As I've gotten older, I realized "you can be anything you want to" doesn't apply to everyone, not even Jewish American Mafia Princesses. At 22, if Zeppo, my brother's kapitan in the Kosher Nostra, hadn't made a move on me, it's doubtful he ever will. And yet, a girl can hope.
Until all hope is snuffed out as Zeppo brings home a woman for the family to meet and I am used as a pawn in the game of arrogant, entitled men.
Hope is a foolish thing...and so is love.
