Overview: Marie Green lives in the North of England and started her working life in the travel industry. During those years, she travelled widely in Europe and the United States. Studying for a degree in History and English Literature as a mature student, she rediscovered her love of Jane Austen characters and locations. Moving from the travel industry into education, she became a lecturer at a local college where she joined a very active writers' group and developed a love of writing stories, and discussing ideas with fellow writers.
She reads Pride and Prejudice at least once a year, along with other Austen and 19th century novels. Her love of Jane Austen and the Regency period led her to discover fan fiction. After reading many of the books by fan fiction authors, she decided to write a story of her own, and has many other ideas for further stories running around in her head and eager to be written.
Researching family history is also one of her favourite pastimes. She has discovered local family connections leading back to the 1700s, and continues to uncover intriguing tales of her ancestors. In her spare time, she loves walking with her husband in the Pennine Hills around her home and spending time with her four grandchildren.

Darcy and Elizabeth's Brighton
What on earth is happening on the outskirts of Brighton? What Mr Darcy sees and hears, added to what Lady Polly observes through her telescope, persuades him that he must return to Brighton. Above all else, it is because Miss Elizabeth Bennet is residing there for the summer. His cousin Anne has teamed up with Lydia Bennet and is likely to cause double trouble. Lady Catherine, who is recovering from apoplexy and can barely speak, writes notes demanding her nephew propose marriage to her daughter Anne. Wickham appears to be in pursuit of Elizabeth, who is also receiving a great deal of attention from one of Lady Polly’s very eligible twin sons.
Who is the soldier skulking suspiciously at the rear of the houses taken by Mr Gardiner and Lady Catherine? Mr Darcy is convinced it is Wickham up to his old tricks.
Then there’s the annoying, quite vicious seagull who enjoys nothing more that attacking Pom, Lady Polly’s much-loved poodle. Each morning and evening Elizabeth walks him along Brighton’s shore.
How will it all end? Will Mr Darcy discover exactly what is going on and win Elizabeth’s heart? Will Elizabeth see a different Mr Darcy from the man she had unwaveringly thought was proud and disagreeable?
This is a gentle amusing story with just a little angst. The prologue contains a short description of Lady Catherine suffering an attack of apoplexy.
Touring with Mr Darcy
After five proposals from unsuitable men, Elizabeth Bennet was determined to make her own way in the world. She had no wish to be a burden to her family or ever to marry. But her desire for independence had brought her to this, trapped and in need of rescue in the Tyrolean Alps and awaiting the arrival of her knight in shining armour.
Elizabeth had taken the position of companion to Lady Portashall-Pilling and was accompanying her and her son, Lord Pilling, on a tour to the Italian Peninsula. She was mortified when her knight turned out to be, of all the men on the Continent, Mr rotten Darcy! That hateful man who had ruined her sister’s life. Mr Darcy, for some reason, kept popping into her mind. And now! He had popped up in the Alps. Well - she knew one thing about him, he certainly looked a strong young gentleman. Hopefully he would have the strength to rescue her from the life-threatening situation she found herself in. Or would he?
Mr Darcy arrived in the small Tyrolean village to find that he was immediately sent out to search for the lost Miss Elizabeth Bennet. The thought tormented him as he set out towards the hills. After the lady had refused his offer of marriage, he had spent three lonely years travelling, from coast to coast and across the sea, to rid his thoughts of that woman. A tour to the Italian Peninsula with his sister and cousin Anne would free his thoughts of Miss Bennet and her caustic assessment of him. But when he finally discovered her, he was horrified to see that she was hovering on the edge of certain injury or worse. He had to put his mind and strength into rescuing her before she fell and be forever lost to him. There was no time for recriminations or any thought other than the one burning through his mind. He must bring her to safety.
Lady Polly, having known Mr Darcy for years, decided that the two parties should travel onwards together. Elizabeth had no say in the matter, nor did Mr Darcy. His sister and cousin were thrilled to find Elizabeth Bennet was also travelling to the Italian Peninsula. So, the two parties journeyed onward, to find a touch of romance, a little angst and some humour along the way.
