2. The Queen 'tween the Tides: Georgian England 1793 and every Briton is bound to an Umbra from the Other Realm. So it is that gentle young artist, Arthur Tenebris, shares his life with the rebellious Amorrie. Theirs is a mortal bond; if one dies, so will the other.
Rumours say Amorrie is the reincarnation of the Old Queen, who conquered both worlds and bound them together 500 years ago. They warn that when the returning Queen comes into her powers, she will reconquer her realms. No-one wants that, so Amorrie is hunted in both worlds.
Arthur travels to a Dorsetshire coastal estate to paint the portrait of Lady Stanton. But assassins follow Amorrie and Arthur, even there, so when he finds a naked young woman half dead on the tideline, no one is sure who or what she is: 'a wave witch' say the servants; 'an innocent from a wreck' say Lady Stanton's guests. As the sea fret closes in, the threats and mysteries multiply.
