Overview: From the time they were kids, Ian Ward wanted to be with his step-brother more than anyone else. Despite the fact Kurt was always playing football and was often mean and rarely wanted anything to do with him, Ian couldn’t help but be drawn to him. He got to see a side of Kurt very few people got to see. Therefore, by the time Ian hit puberty, he was aware he was gay and was hopelessly in love with Kurt.
Both boys were talented. Kurt was an extraordinary athlete and had, as it would turn out, a head for business. Ian had been playing the violin since he was nine years old and was virtually genius. He had always felt that only through his music could he truly be himself.
There was only one other love in Ian’s life; his best friend Tessa. Tess knew everything there was to know about Ian, including his feelings for Kurt.
As for Kurt, he also knew Ian’s secrets. From early on he had figured out that Ian was gay and infatuated with him. Even when Ian began dating Tess, it didn’t take long for Kurt to see it was all a charade; a fake relationship to keep the fawning girls away from the increasingly attractive Ian and the horny boys away from “Virgin Princess Tessa”, who planned to save herself for marriage.
Kurt found it all rather amusing and actually enjoyed watching Ian become flustered around him. It made him feel good; stroked his ego. In fact, he would go out of his way to do things he knew would make Ian… pleasantly uncomfortable. It seemed to be his personal mission in life to make sure Ian never stopped wanting him.
But things change, people change. And sometimes life throws you a curve ball that not even talented athletes like Kurt can catch
