Adaptive Instinct (Book 2)
In this sequel to Survival Instinct, a small group that made it out of Leighton alive is now settling in at the Bishop cabin. It has been only one week since the Day, and they’re all still reeling from it. Despite this, they intend to survive and are preparing the cabin for the long months ahead. That is, until a plane lands on the lake, and an occupant inside delivers news that one survivor just can’t ignore. Meanwhile, at the North Leighton Correctional Facility, the dead are piling up outside. The walls are completely surrounded, and both citizens and mercenaries taking refuge inside are far from safe. Not only is the pressure building within, but something new has arrived outside the prison. It’s watching them. It’s waiting for them to make a mistake.
Fighting Instinct (Book 3)
It’s been over six years since the events of Adaptive Instinct, and the survivors have settled into their lives aboard the Diana. They have their familiar routines on the modified cruise ship, where they feel relatively safe from the zombie threat that still plagues both the mainland and surrounding islands. That all changes when a cruise ship enters their waters, one that won’t respond to their hails. With the lure of fuel too great to ignore, a team is sent over to investigate. What no one realizes is that there’s already a threat aboard their own vessel; one that’s going to set off a chain reaction of events that will alter everything they know.
Defensive Instinct (Book 4)
Since Fighting Instinct, the survivors have settled into their new homes back on land. While half of the group has chosen to remain living underground in the Black Box, growing crops on the land above, the other half has made the decision to settle in the container yard down river, gathering much of their supplies through scavenging. By trading equally between themselves, the two colonies have managed to create a sustainable, and even comfortable, existence. When a team of scavengers goes missing, however, and a platoon of hostiles arrives on the Black Box’s doorstep, the camps are prepared to show their fangs, to hold onto what’s theirs by any means necessary. But something even more deadly than raiders is on the horizon, and it has far more teeth.
Social Instinct (Book 5)
After the destructive attacks in Defensive Instinct, the group of survivors living by the sea needs to rebuild. Having lost over half their living space and all of their crop land, the future is one of slow starvation. Seeing no other choice, the leaders decide to send out most of their able-bodied, either to scavenge, or make contact with other groups and ask for aide. But the road is a dangerous place, travelled by both the living and the dead. Not everyone out in the world is friendly, or even sane. Meanwhile, left behind with few adults, the children begin an intensive training regime, without realizing how little time they have to get ready. For vengeance is coming their way, and it cares not about age or hunger.
