Overview: A veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Brian Parker retired from the US Army after 25 years of service in 2020. Brian enjoys hiking, obstacle course racing, writing, and Texas Longhorns football. He's an unashamed Star Wars fan, but prefers to disregard the entire Episode I and II debacle...and the newer Episode VIII disaster. Brian is both traditionally and self-published with an ever-growing collection of works across multiple genres, including sci-fi, post-apocalyptic/dystopian, horror, paranormal thriller, military fiction, self-publishing how-to and even a children's picture book--Zombie in the Basement, which he wrote to help children overcome the perceived stigma of being different than others. He is also the founder of Muddy Boots Press, an independent publishing company that focuses on quality genre fiction over mass-produced books.
Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy > Zombies > Post-Apocalyptic

Enduring Armageddon
The world as we know it is destroyed when a regional conflict spins out of control, pulling other nations into the war. Most major population centers are vaporized in the ensuing chaos, throwing millions of tons of dirt and ash into the atmosphere to block out the sun and create a nuclear winter. A new age of lawlessness begins. The void created by the destruction of our central government is filled by local warlords who struggle against each other to provide resources for their people. These clashes threaten to destroy the last vestiges of humanity as the basic needs of food, water and shelter take precedence over everything else. From the ruins of the irradiated wastes emerge the bloodthirsty scavengers and a dangerous new breed of creature known as the Changed, who are intent on the annihilation of the human race. A small group of survivors from Illinois attempts to escape further south away from the deepening cold and increasing anarchy. Along the way, they discover that the true monsters are not the mutants of the wastes; instead the enemy that they must fear the most is their fellow man.
The Diary of Craig Walsh
Eight years after the Collapse of the global economy and the fall of modern society, simply surviving each day is a gift. Starvation, disease, and death lurk in the shadows, waiting for their opportunity to claim another life. The great nations have fallen, replaced by local communities that will do anything to keep their people alive. Jace Thompson finds himself fleeing from the insidious forces of the Collective. He makes it across the Potomac River into what was once the American state of Maryland. His fortune begins to turn when he stumbles across a house, unmolested by scavengers, which holds a gruesome mystery that will forever alter his life. In the basement, Jace finds three desiccated bodies near a solar-powered laptop. The laptop contains instructions on how to find a secret bunker that promises enough food to last for decades. It’s an opportunity that Jace can’t pass up, but the discovery threatens to lead to him toward his death. Will he survive the journey, or will he end up as just another discarded body along the roadside?
