Wild Strawberry: A Zombie Apocalypse series by T.A. Donnelly (#0-2)
Requirements: ePUB or MOBI Reader | 1 MB
Overview: My older brother rented 'Dawn of the Dead' from our local video library. I was only 11, and my parents (very sensibly) did not allow me to watch it. However I sneaked out of bed in the middle of the night, slipped it into the video recorder and watched it with terror and glee (and with the volume down low so no one would hear and wake up). Life has never been the same since! Zombies are the most horrific creations of the horror genre: If you become a werewolf you can lead a relatively normal life (apart from at the 'wrong time of the month'); if you become a vampire you get to live forever as a cool super-powered goth; but there is no good side to becoming a zombie. Zombies just rot and feed. They are mindless, sacks of decaying meat that make a mockery of the life they once lived. Zombies warn us that if we don't start living the rot will set in. Literally.
Genre: Horror | Zombie Apocalypse
WELCOME TO THE END OF THE WORLD! An apocalyptic zombie thriller with heart and brains as well as guts (lots of guts). The action unfolds at a frantic pace as London is the epicentre of a global plague of death that brings a sudden end to the world as we know it. In a culture where guns are rare, and the dead are almost unstoppable, the chances of survival are slim. When your life expectancy is measured in hours you make every minute count. How long would you last?
Descent (Book 1)
Down Street: a disused London Underground station - ground zero. A secret research facility is using nanotechnology to develop a way to repair brain tissue damaged by Alzheimers Disease. The nanotechnology has an unfortunate side-effect only revealed after a disastrous containment breach. This is the end of the world.
Life In Hell (Book 2)
The world has ended. A church. A Prison. A Cold War Bunker. Temporary refuges for small bands of survivors. Will they risk everything to attempt to find a cure for the plague of undeath that has destroyed their world? Or is it already too late?
The Motorcycle Diaries (Book 0)
The Untold Chapter of the Wild Strawberry Trilogy. Author's note: This is not a complete novel! It is a short story based on material deleted from Book Two of the Wild Strawberry Trilogy. I cut thousands of words from my first drafts in the editing process, and most of what is removed doesn’t deserve to see the light of day. ‘The Motorcycle Diaries’ are different. This strand from Book Two was deleted because there was ‘too much going on’ and the book was losing focus. Book One has several strands that ‘go nowhere’ as humanity falls to the zombie virus; I wanted book Two to spotlight the survivors who end up in the Bunker. I liked the bikers and I liked the situations I placed them in, but they were a distraction from the main story. At almost 11,000 words it made up around 20% of the novel! So here, as a separate story (perhaps best read as an interlude between Books One and Two) I present the Motorcycle Diaries...
