Whether Human, Nazvishii or Morichredian, each is out for itself, driven onward by a sense of its own heritage and importance, and convinced of its own right to dominate a world of massive scale.
With so much at stake, it becomes harder and harder to discern who is right and who is wrong on Jamieson’s elaborate and fractured planet.

The province of House Yulano has been conquered by the traitorous industrial power of House Krakelis, allied to the Nazvishii, an ancient race of creatures who command the very shadows. The surviving Yulano family have been captured and incarcerated in Keep Krakelis. The exiled Yulano lord, Nessan, a vagrant monk struggling to rediscover his purpose, is on a mission to reclaim his homeland at the head of a ragtag force of allies. He is a marked man and the Nazvishii are hunting him. In every shadow there is the promise of death…
