Overview: Ben Yallop grew up in the 'haunted' house in the English county of Kent where the opening chapters of ‘The Circle Line’ are set. It was there that a ticklish fascination with the paranormal first began to creep in. After three years of philosophising at the University of Leeds (including studies in time-travel) and then various stints of international backpacking (and further encounters of the spooky kind) Ben settled down into the occasionally bizarre but wonderful world of the UK Civil Service. Initially donning wig and gown as a clerk of the Crown Court he now works as something of an adviser to the senior judiciary at the Royal Courts of Justice in London, making the occasional visit to warmer climes to develop justice overseas. He lives with his wife and three children in Farnham, Surrey and can often be found tapping away on his laptop about myths and monsters on the commute to Waterloo. Do say hello.

Beneath the streets of London lie the tunnels of the world's oldest underground railway. But there is more in the darkness than just train tracks. With the sudden death of his grandfather Sam finds himself as the new owner of the ghostly house where he grew up. But it is not long before Sam finds himself running for his life with allies from another world, persecuted for a power he doesn't even possess. Persuaded to stage the desperate rescue of a man who holds an unbelievable secret Sam's quest takes him to London and on to America and Russia. Soon the truth behind the most enduring myths and legends of men is revealed and, as Sam discovers, sometimes the truth is far scarier than fiction. If the past can be affected then who can tell what the future might hold?
#2 The Blood Line: If some myths and legends are real who can tell what is true and what is a lie?
Sam Hain’s world has been turned upside down. With the terrible knowledge that mankind is doomed Sam uses the mysterious pathways called lines to venture far into the future where the Riven hold sway, governed by the powerful and mad Riven King. But there, in a land where the telekinetic magic of presence is most feared, Sam learns of a new threat, the strange line they call the Blood Line. This seems to be what the King has been searching for all along in the ancient plague pits under present-day London, a line that will make him more powerful than ever. Could the discovery of this line foreshadow the beginning of the end? If Sam can stop the King from taking the line can he stop the threat to our future or even protect the present? And what do the mysterious Boxes that are whispered about in the Rivenrok Complex have to do with it, and why have they been disappearing? The battle for our future has begun.
