Overview: Zak Clements (b. 1991) was raised in the beautiful green Pacific Northwest, USA. He has been writing stories since the age of 8. His first published works, the Remnant Series, are grounded in gritty realism, but his favorite genre is sci-fi, and his readers can expect to see such works in the future. He has a love for philosophy and the deeper meaning of things. Because of this, he will only write stories where there is a deeper meaning to be found, and with characters that are anything but skin-deep.

Remnant (#1) A story about a father and his daughter searching for each other after a gruesome civil war has torn America apart and left it in a state of ruin and anarchy. Theia, only 11 years old, is all alone as she faces the freezing-cold weather, and prowlers and mobsters who dominate the desolate streets of her city. She is a strong, but sweet and compassionate girl, forced to make impossible decisions. Will she survive? If she survives, will it come at the cost of her humanity? Remnant is told from Theia's perspective, and from the perspectives of everyone who has a crucial role in her finding and being reunited with her father. A philosophical journey, exploring the contrast between what is moral and what is necessary. Everyone learns the hard way that things are not always what they seem.
Resurrection (#2) The American remnant remains in a precarious situation. The people continue to be divided, and every side of the conflict unceasingly fights for dominance over the land. Meanwhile, Ethan strives to find a way to keep the promise he made to his daughter, who is mentally deteriorating from her experiences in the previous novel, 'Remnant.' In this simultaneous prequel/sequel to the original, you learn of Ethan's origins and what made him the man he became.
