Overview: The day has finally come. Destorum, the creator of existence, has admitted defeat—Humanity, his acclaimed masterpiece…is a failure. In a reckless fit of rage, he uses the last bits of his essence to spawn merciless beasts, called Havokai, upon the earth to deliver his wrathful apocalypse. With the ignorant humans weak and divided, it appears that the Havokai will slaughter them down to the last soul…which poses quite a problem for Heaven and Hell. As a result, Zerus, Hell’s most infamous demon, and Tsuga, Heaven’s most soft-hearted (and dim-witted) saint, are thrust into a volatile companionship as they embark upon an unprecedented journey back to the Realm of the Living to combat the Havokai horde to prevent the collapse of all of existence. With the aid of two unlikely humans—a boy with the soul of a Havokai trapped inside of him, and his gunslinger of an older sister—Zerus and Tsuga’s emotionally-conflicted and bloody journey across a war-torn modern United States gets them ambushed by miniature, hyperactive elves, launched half-way across the country in a giant catapult, and charged a toll by a group of grumpy, greedy goblins, before they ultimately encounter the first of the four Beasts of the End: Simruza the Ravenous.
