Overview: When he wakes up in a small room, he has no idea who he is or even what his name is. When he goes to search for answers about what has happened to him, he meets others like him, others who know his name is Cormac, just as he instinctively knows their names. He finds out that some are good, some are not as they seem to be, and some are outright liars.
With little understanding of what it is that he is supposed to do, Cormac goes into the world of the breathers – the living people who are not like him. He is first charged with finding a breather he has never met and finding a way of helping her. But when he meets other breathers, breathers that live and laugh and enjoy life, and one special woman in particular, can Cormac keep to his mission, especially when he begins to doubt his trust in those like him?
