Overview: Apocalypse and post apocalyptic fiction often deals with theramifications of a scenario entailing the total breakdown of authority.Such a situation would not be soft or pretty and would in fact befrightening and in many ways, deadly.
I labored to present a story that would be entertaining as well as enlightening. I believe in heroes. I believe there are evil people who will run amok in a SHTF situation. I believe there will be power grabbers willing to step on and subjugate the weak in order to live like kings. There will be those who oppose the evil. I reckon I believe the spirit of John Wayne or Randolf Scott resides in the souls of many.
'Worn Out Boots' uses as a vehicle, the life of Jeremy, a teenager, a college student, a boy hardly prepared to be thrown on his own resources. You the reader will follow him and witness his transformation from a boy who was almost a sheep, to a man who is a force to be reckoned with, and then you will capture a snapshot of his later years as he enters old age.
