Sentinel's of Creation Series (2, 4-5) by Robert W. Ross

Overview: Robert W. Ross has spent the last twenty five years spinning stories and user journeys into web, mobile, and social experiences for brands ranging from the obscure to the iconic. He has both a passion for pop culture and a deep loathing to discuss himself in the third person. However, his wife convinced him that anyone who took the time to reach the last page of his book might want to know a little about the person who wrote it. To that end, Robert’s influences include authors such as Robert A. Heinlein, Philip Jose Farmer, and Brandon Sanderson. He has a deep and abiding love for all things Star Trek, Doctor Who, and Sponge Bob. While Robert can often make obscure TV, Book, and Movie references, he sadly lacks Kellan’s eidetic memory. He is also quite sure the brain space taken up by all that trivia is directly responsible for his lacking any sense of direction. Sentinels of Creation: A Tale of Two Gardens, is Robert’s second published novel and he is already hard at work on the third book of the series. He lives in Atlanta with his wife of over twenty years, their kids, a Siberian Husky, and about 11 different Apple products.

#2 - A Tale of Two Gardens
It’s been slightly over a year since Kellan Thorne first accepted the Sentinel’s mantel and its power was renewed in him. He thought destroying an Arch Demon and banishing his Chaotic opposite would have brought him more respite than it did.
Now Creation itself is under threat, by a Cabal of Angels and Demons who have found a way to shatter the foundational pillars of Time itself. This dire warning is brought to the young Sentinel by an unlikely messenger who risks all to enlist the aid of God’s unchecked hand on the world.
Kellan must decide if he will stay true to his dead master’s teachings and oppose all unnatural beings or risk everything by trusting that they might rise above their natures in defense of a common threat.
This sets off a whirlwind effort that crosses both centuries and miles as Kellan, Shannon, Meghan and new allies try desperately to stay one step ahead of the Cabal. Their efforts will take them back to medieval Scotland and through modern day Egypt, Ethiopia, and Vatican City. Along the way Kellan will face new threats and form new alliances as his motely crew does its best to prevent the Cabal from destroying all our yesterdays.
#4 - A Burden of Chaos
Merlin’s final words haunt the Sentinel’s dreams.
Kellan’s eidetic memory replays them with perfect clarity each night since he breached the guff and withdrew three human souls. Now, more than a year later, both he and his Soulborn wife are visited by an entity who channeled Universal power to enter our world from another.
This Emissary of Destruction provides the young Sentinel with a gift of unimaginable power and a dire warning.This combination sets Kellan on a journey which takes him to the land of Fae. There he must gain support from the Fairy King and Queen.
Unfortunately, all Fae extract a price commensurate with the help they provide, and Kellan is no exception.
The royals send him to confront historic evils and tragedy in return for empowering the emissary’s gift. As well laid plans built by Mantels, gods, and other immortals hurtle toward their conclusion only one element could not have been anticipated.
What would the Sentinel of Order do to honor departed friends and protect those who remain? Kellan has risked his life many times for those he loves. Is he now also willing to accept, A Burden of Chaos.
#5 - A Crucible of Order
Kellan Thorne labors beneath the burden of Chaos he accepted in order to both save Shannon and destroy the previous Sentinel of Chaos. Now he is trapped in the brutal life of a slave and gladiator within Claudius’ Rome.
Meanwhile, in 2020, Shannon McLeod Thorne struggles with both the loss of her husband and the responsibilities of being Creation’s new Sentinel of Order. Almost six months have passed since she pushed Kellan through the portal in Fingal’s Cavern, and she has begun to lose hope. However, like many times before, strange events conspire to cast light in dark places.
The first glimmer comes from James Clinton and his AI friend Jarvis who believe they can break the code surrounding Kellan’s mysterious disappearance. Shannon, Meghan, and the Council of Havilah use this new found information to try and summon an enigmatic Mantle of unimaginable power. However, in doing so, they risk bringing down upon themselves the very Incarnation of Destruction.
Even if they succeed in avoiding this Incarnation’s grasp and enlisting the Mantle’s help to retrieve Kellan from ancient Rome, how will his friends save the new Sentinel of Chaos from himself.
