Their dangerous quest for answers leads Terra straight into Darkwood, a shady place entrenched in ruthless power struggles and secrets as dark as its name. And some vampire residents are guarding their own secrets. Terra knows this all too well when she is coerced into a daring plan that could save Portiside at the risk of jeopardizing her own complicated love life. With each secret she unearths, the stakes become higher than she could have ever imagined.

4. Death Be Burned - When the fire burns, many will die, and it’s up to the IET to stop the arson attacks before it’s too late.
When a fire-wielding djinn escapes through the portal from the world of Portiside and wreaks havoc on Seattle, it’s up to the human psychic Agent Terra Vane and the supernatural IET (Interside Enforcement Team) to track him down before the body count rises even further. Not only are the team limited by the lack of leads coming through, but operating under the radar makes the case even more difficult. The humans have no knowledge of the vampire, shifters, demon and fairy operating among them, and it's up to Terra to make sure they never do. At least, not on her watch.
As they face the djinn’s brewing thirst for revenge, Terra and the team must pull together with all the resources they have to hand and find him before it’s too late.
The fire is burning, and death is only the beginning.

Kaleb and the rest of the IET are beside themselves, trying to hunt down the sinister wolf shifter assassin, Timber Smoke, who put a round of bullets into Terra during their last meeting. Not only that, but they’re trying to unravel the corruption within the Consilium and deal with the escaped prisoner, Azer Pyas; an incubus determined to have his fill of victims on Earthside.
They’re having to deal with grief, the threat of more people dying on both sides of the portal, and trying to understand what Senates to trust. Terra is silent. Kaleb is trying to lead the way. And answers are coming fast and furious, whether those from Portiside want it or not.
