Matthew is an avid gamer, a recovered WoW addict, Gamemaster for two custom systems, and a fan of anime, British humour, and intellectual science fiction that questions the nature of reality, life, and what happens after it.
Genre: Fiction; Sci-fi/Fantasy

#2 - The Shadow Collector
Brooklyn thought nothing would ever surprise her again after learning her father is an extraplanar being―until the police ask her for help.
For most of her life, the cops have been a thorn in her side, always in the way of a good time. By seventeen, she’d spent more time in police cars than some rookies. With age comes (a little) restraint, and she’s managed to avoid getting in trouble for six whole years. Working for the Philadelphia Fire Department offers a sense of belonging and purpose she never had growing up, even if the whole ‘adulting’ thing sucks.
After responding to a fire call eerily similar to the one that claimed her childhood home, a local detective seeks her out. He’s hunting a serial killer who preys on the city’s homeless, taking the lives of those no one cares to see. Every victim’s body has so far been stolen from the morgue, frustrating the investigation to the point he’s willing to rely on a psychic―even a former delinquent.
Brooklyn senses a connection between the recent fire, the murders, and a mysteriously guilty little girl, but her respect for the law only goes so far.
#3 - The Gate to Oblivion
Brooklyn Amari doesn’t ask for much, only the ability to make it through life without destroying the universe.
Working as a firefighter is her true calling, satisfying her deep, primal draw to the flames. Immunity to burning courtesy of her half-extraplanar ancestry makes her the city’s best weapon against disaster of the incendiary kind—not that anyone knows about it. She’s trying to keep her nature a secret, since magical creatures aren’t allowed inside major population centers… and most people probably wouldn’t react well to a demon.
Even a half-demon.
Since her psychic abilities are out of the bag, the Arson Investigation Unit calls on her for all the ‘weird ones’ no one else wants to touch. When they can’t explain an apparent case of spontaneous human combustion, they bring her in to track a deadly arcane arsonist.
She’s happy to help, but unfortunately, some not-quite-angels abduct someone she cares for. They need Brooklyn to destroy the mortal world as it’s in the way of their interdimensional war—but even if she does what they want, everyone she loves will die.
#5 - The Burning Alchemist
Brooklyn Amari is so excited to have a kid, she’s beside herself—literally.
The six-year-old isn’t her daughter, but a copy of her in all ways except age. Despite a seventeen-year age gap, being around Pandora makes her feel like a kid again, which means mischief. Who has time to destroy all of creation when there are pranks to play?
Brooklyn inherited powers some might call demonic from her father, but also epic laziness. From her mother, she came down with a severe case of conscience. While she tries to do the right thing, having little respect for the law and weak impulse control sometimes results in destructive shortcuts, blood, and screaming.
Lawrence again asks for her help investigating a fire. Upon learning eighteen people died, Mom’s gift of morality cramps her desire to laze around having fun. Once a psychic hit reveals how twisted the arsonist is, Brooklyn fully commits to hunting him down.
Problem is: he knows she’s coming… and her friends aren’t fireproof.
